Quoted from thechakapakuni:That’s a clean one for sure. Make sure you get the 1.07 ROM
Thanks. Already did! Ordered a ColorDMD as well. In the process of giving it a thorough cleaning and LED swap.
Hey guys. I just grabbed my Star Wars but the death star target isn't dropping. The relay is clicking and the relay board seems okay. I can't move the target down by pressing on it, so I assume the motor is shot? Here's a few pics.

Can someone please post a pic of this switch by the motor? I think the one on the left is backwards. Wouldn't explain why it's not working, but I am guessing motor at this point.

Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!
Quoted from gdonovan:Reflow the pins on the relay, common failure point.
Yes, I will do that. Thanks.
Would you be able to snap a pic of the left switch that I circled above? I believe it's upside down? Thanks again.
Quoted from thechakapakuni:Anybody ever start making the Death Star Gate assembly? Last time I checked it was Unobtainium
Are you talking about the part that holds the target and moves up and down? If so, the 3D print file is readily available.
Quoted from pudealee:When I bought me DESW around 25 years ago that very same plastic had been replaced when a generic gray piece. Was able to finally make it whole again. I happened to find mine on eBay - way back when. Try https://www.ministryofpinball.com I have ordered from them before.
Thank you!
Has anyone installed LED OCD's Gizmo in their DESW? Mine came in the mail today but there aren't an instructions anywhere for DE. http://ledocd.com/cart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=8&products_id=19
9 pin, keyed on 5th. Not sure where to plug this in. Thanks.
Quoted from vec-tor:Try CN7 on the main CPU board.
Thank you. I have the LED OCD hooked into that too, I don't think that is it. Gizmo is for GI lights.
Quoted from vec-tor:Then it would be in to the power supply CN8
Thank you, I'll give that a try.
Edit: That's the one, thanks!
Quoted from mcmnky:I found this black plastic on my playfield by the inside right lane. Any ideas where it might be from?
I was playing when I spotted it. This was a day after putting in a Cliffy protector on the Force scoop. There's a jagged edge to suggest it broke off of something, but I can't find where that might be.[quoted image][quoted image]
Just a guess but check the back of the scarlacc pit vertical plastic piece

Quoted from bajm:mikespins could you show some pictures of that powder cost job on the wire form and side rails?
Sure. Everything is done in Illusion Red

Quoted from GoodOmens:That pops and reminds me of the Star Trek premium. Nice job!
Thanks!
Quoted from Billc479:Mikespins, or anybody else who had the DV topper -
How is your topper mounted? Screws, tape, etc.?
Quoted from ryandimx:Hey everyone. I'm going to put an LCD color DMD in my star wars. I understand there will be some mods to do. Do I want to get the stern version of the color DMD to work with star wars?
You will have to modify your speaker panel if you choose to do an LCD. It's been done, but "out of the box" the LED version is the only plug-and-play solution.
Quoted from Pinstym:I've been putting off reassembly of my coin door mechs because I can't decide what color to go with the bezels.
I can still play it on free play as it sits, so it's been this way for months.
Red?
White?
Blue?
Leave them black?
Anyone have an opinion they care to share?
Thanks.

Black or red would look cool! Either way grab some 3D coin return buttons from Rocket City Pinball!
Quoted from Enki:Question for guys with pinsound, I’m going to order the speakers and sound board but did any of you buy the power booster cable? Is it needed?
Yup, get it
Quoted from bajm:Happy Fourth of July! We did a block party today and I set up T2 and DESW in a garage for the neighbors and kiddos to enjoy. Hope everyone has a great fourth!
[quoted image][quoted image]
This is great, I'm sure everyone enjoyed it. My wife and I talk about doing this on our block also, and these are the 2 games I would setup!
Quoted from FLASHBALL:I am in the same boat. I plan to have mine 3D scanned and printed soon. I will gladly print a second one for you.
I would be interested in the stl if possible, for future replacement. Would you be kind enough to put it up on thingiverse?
Quoted from gstanczuk:I am working on a complete restoration of my DESW. There seems to be two remaining issues other than a part that I am looking for.
Issue one is that occasionally during game play the skill shot does not work. The ball is in the trough ready to shoot however the sequence does not play and the game is stalled. Pressing the skill shot button does not work at this point. The game goes through the sequence of firing the coils but still doesn’t start. I have checked the ball trough and shooter lane switches in switch test and they all register when triggered. Not sure what to check next.
Issue two is not a game changer but is annoying. During initial game startup the voice call out is cut short. Not sure how to fix this. I have searched the many posts but I have not found a solution.
Any help with these issues would be much appreciated.
This happened to mine as well. The reason was me hitting the flippers before the ball launch caused one of the target switches to activate, delaying the ball launch. Are there points on the dmd when this happens? If so, perhaps one of your switches contact points are too close or touching, causing points to score before the ball is launched.
Quoted from FLASHBALL:As long as my guy modeling it for me doesn't care I'll be happy to share it with the group.
Thank you!
Quoted from FLASHBALL:mikespins
He sent me a zip file with 3 different versions of the .stl files.
PM me with your email and I will forward it to you.
Thank you! I am very grateful that FLASHBALL was kind enough to give me permission to post these STL files on Thingiverse to help the community out. Thanks again!

Quoted from Toine79:I'm joining this club next week and I want to install a color dmd sigma led and also a Pinsound board. Do I need to install an external power supply like a 12v and 5v jamma power supply or ar there other solutions ? How do Ibinstall and wire that in an excisting pinball machine
I found also Pinsound power booster. Does that also do the job ?
Thanks in advance .
Just get the power booster that Pinsound recommends and you'll be fine. I agree with @oradke, get the shaker system too Good luck!
Quoted from oradke:Honestly? The red looks cheap. I'd prefer silver or black (ideally with black powder coated legs as well). But that's my personal opinion, YMMV.
Cheap? Not at all, it looks nice. Just do the legs and a few other pieces to match. Nothing cheap looking about that .
