Hi, long time lurker finally jumping in! Spent last weekend reading all 37 pages of this thread, lots of great ideas and general info. I joined the club a few weeks ago. This was listed on CL for $3500, eventually dropped to $3000 and I got it for $2000. Updated to 1.06 and LEDs and made my own topper. Topper is loaded up with Comet modular leds, I'll add a video when I'm done fussing with it. As many here have done, I added lights under VUK and apron and replaced the speakers. Lifelong Star Wars freak so this machine pushes my buttons! I can't imagine ever parting with this one!

I have a problem with the outhole kicker. The ball will sometimes not make it through the gate, roll back down and the 2nd kick pretty much always makes it. I see no obstruction, replaced that coil and even upgraded to Rottendog PS. Any ideas?

#1812 7 years ago

I'm talking about the drain kick to the trough. I'll check the manual, I just replaced what was there could easily be wrong one. Thanks!

Color dmd looks killer, btw!! I want one!

#1826 7 years ago

I'm still struggling... I broke the wire under the apron. Made a new one and I think (but can't see) that it's working fine. I think my problem is the switch in the outhole. I think some times it hits the ball early or maybe late and it doesn't hit right. Other times I think it's just hitting the wire and bouncing back down. There's an odd gap in the plastic under there too, I'm not missing a piece am I?

Sorry, I should have known better...

Here's my topper! Not sure if it's "done" done...

I love the black cab!!!

Here's 2 "is this right?" pics/questions.
The rail seems solid, haven't noticed broken welds. Works fine, looks like it's sitting too far left.
Is the tab sticking out also a broken weld?

I wanted to put a green led behind Jabba plastic (to match the green added to VUK). When I did, I accidentally left the top tab of the plastic cover on the back flipped up which looks really cool! Lights the top of Jabba plastic nicely...

I got carried away when putting in LEDS and now I am not sure where this wireform belongs in the Jabba/Sarlac light stack. Anyone know ?

Mine's here...

I'm still struggling with the homemade outhole wire gate. Anyone willing to take pics?? I've tried to copy this

http://www.marcospecialties.com/control/keywordsearch?SEARCH_STRING=535-5393-00

but every few balls the ball will roll back down and get counted as next ball. Many a Tri-ball end frustratingly early... Thanks

#2192 7 years ago

I'm struggling here... Are the 2 clips that hold the wire down supposed to have the protruding toothed side in the trough or outside? Any insights welcome... Thanks

I had an intermittent gi issue so I just replaced the ppb with a Rottendog. Fixed gi and was surprised to see a bump in power to all the coils. Bonus!

Ain't too proud to beg... I still really need to see under somebody's apron. That wire is driving me nuts!!! Pretty please!!!

#2207 7 years ago

The force is strong with this one. Thank you, sir!

#2208 7 years ago

If you haven't back-lit the Falcon and the Emperor you really, really should...

Wow! I've never seen that before. Can you describe your setup? And possibly take a pic of the backside?

Lemmeno if you have any questions, Comet stuff, wedge wanted to wiggle loose so I added unsightly Gorilla tape. Open to better ideas...

Quoted from paynemic:

Where did you tie those lamps in?

They are just alligator clipped to a nearby gi socket underneath the playfield. The lamp behind the Falcon is a splitter and is feeding the Emperor. I can take a pic under the playfield if you want... My wife even noticed that the Emperor was lit up and thought it was an improvement!

I took mine to local welding company, $20 and 10 min later it was good (maybe better) as new!

Omg, I've got my RasPiSound up and running and have built on the existing sound collections which I will share soon... but let me say, if you're on the fence about getting this or the pinsound I say do it! Either one, who cares! It is a whole new game with updated music and sounds (and callouts). It's night and day, crazy good! I expected to love it but not as much as i do!

#2431 6 years ago

I will make a video soon, still tweeking sounds. It's been fun. I took the Falcon dogfight and the Deathstar attack and chopped them up into about 13 diff clips for variety in the video launch shot. Couldn't resist adding Bill Murray singing the theme and the Meco disco version too! Both are a fun surprise when they come up.
Here's his site, he shipped fast, answered a bunch of my dumb questions, I was very happy with the transaction.

Hey all... Merry Christmas! I just realized that it was FIVE years ago yesterday (December 24, 2012) that my Star Wars Version 1.04 update was released!!!
(Then I put out version 1.06 on May 4, 2016 aka May The Fourth. And finally version 1.07 on December 17, 2016.)

And we thank you! Merry Christmas to you!

Experimenting with homemade side boards, outside of time and using the color copier at work I have about $1.50 invested per side for laminating (big spender).
Whatcha think?

I like the caps!
Cap screws are #4 metrics if I remember right, recently took one to Ace Hardware to match...

Mine is for sale and priced pretty high. I'm thinking of taking out the pin2dmd, sound card and topper and lowering my price...

I put some cheap Pyle speakers in mine, big improvement

I have a couple of versions that I've done just that, built on the other 2 but eliminating all DE music. Version 1 is OST mostly from the trinity. The 2nd is a Mecco disco version, surprisingly fun! I've been meaning to upload for months, I will do it very soon...

#2703 5 years ago

They are uploaded but pending approval. Let me know what you think and enjoy!

#2705 5 years ago

They are approved and ready to download!

Hmm, I the original, Julian and one by Pinhead - is that yours?

Nope, Vader77
(The disco mix would make me more of a pinbooty than pinhead)

Quoted from Dkjimbo:

THANK YOU SIR!!!!!

You are welcome and thanks for the kind words! I'm glad you rattled my cage, sometimes I need prodding!

You'll find that there are a lot of variations in the pre-plunge. I just sliced up the audio from most of the major battles. So, the dialogue is a little low because of the extra battle sounds in there (if I remember right). I tried to crank and sweeten anything I could, especially the DE sounds that remain.

The disco one is fun, I load it up for parties. I didn't replace many of the DE sounds in it as they seemed more appropriate and I was running out of steam!

Thanks for the feedback and glad you like it!

#2733 5 years ago

Looks great, great story, sorry about your brother, thanks for compliment and what is that behind your deathstar?!?!

#2743 5 years ago

Awesome! Glad you like it! I thought it was a Wampa (didn't remember the name tbh) I would like to see a closer pic if you don't mind...
I like how the Bill Murray song goes on when you start a new game, happy accident.
