Hello everyone this is my first post on the forum. Please bear with me.
My first pinball machine ever purchased was a DESW that was very inexpensive and had been heavily routed. It is been my goal to eventually restore this machine. Life moved on and I became able to afford nicer things. I eventually got a quote from HEP For 6K in restorations. Prior to sending my machine off for restoration, I found another DESW machine that was for sale. It was home use only from original owner. I purchased it and the machine is absolutely pristine and I never knew there was a Star Wars out there this nice. The guy said it had only been moved a couple of times when he had his basement steam cleaned. I now own two DESW (first world problems LOL). Interestingly, in the new/nicer machine I found what appears to be a cardboard shroud (or the remanence of) what seemed to originally enclose/separate the coinbox area from the rest of the internal machine. In the pic you will notice a long piece of card stock screwed into the piece of wood right next to the speaker. I'm also pointing to part of it that was screwed in along the front wall coin mechanism area. It seems that these two pieces of cardboard originally connected creating an enclosed area. There is another tab of cardboard on the opposite side similar to what I'm pointing at. It appears that at some point in the life of this machine, the middle portion connecting both pieces was torn out. This is the only part of the machine that does not seem to be original or has been altered.
Does anyone know what this is and if it can be reproduced?
