I like the 2nd one better.
Quoted from Pinstein:Torn on which emperor to go with.

This Emperator from the old original ist the right one in my opinion. Would you ship to Germany ?
Regards
Ralf
I like the 2nd one as well, but I can't stop seeing what looks like a horn coming out of the top of Leia's head. Maybe darken that part of Obi Wan's cloak.
Well, it’s in stock. So $20 + shipping & repair Uh

I just replaced mine. Not too bad. The yellow piece is 3D printed but strong
Quoted from jedimastermatt:It looks like the file is approved and is now available. Enjoy!

Hey Jedi,
I cant get the latest file/OST to load. Not sure if anybody else is having this issue, but the extraction completes and confirms files, but when i start the game, i get no sounds at all.

Same problem for me. I’m trying latest firmware. I’ll report back.
Quoted from Seth1977:This Translight is perfect. Very well illuminated with Hyper white LED. Thank You Pinstein. Perfect! Can’t say enough.

That looks great!

I reached out to Nicholas from pinsound. I found 1 file in the zip that had an ‘ the zip didn’t like, but correcting that didn’t help. I’ll report back when I hear from them
Quoted from gdonovan:Tip for DESW owners.
Was having a problem with the ball chattering when launched in the area of the top right roll over. Sometimes so bad it would not make it to R2D2 and roll back down the right lane.
I was able to reduce this by replacing the spring in the lane shooter with a stronger return spring from a slingshot. Much better and the upper gate not getting battered so much. Cuts the ball speed in half if I had to guess.
I was finally able to find a 100% fix for this problem!
Still having a problem with the ball either chattering so bad it would not make it to R2D2 or it would rail in so fast it would bounce off the post up there and wander back down the right orbit, was maddening. Replacing the shooter return spring with a stronger spring from a sling maybe reduced it 2/3 but still did it enough it irked the hell out of me.
Took apart the shooter assembly again, removed the spring, installed 2 star post o-rings at the base of the plunger (were the weighted disk is) and reinstalled the strong spring and reassembled.
Works perfect! The 2 o-rings increase the spring tension slightly but more importantly act as both a damper when the plunger is at end of travel and reduces the travel of the plunger as well.
The ball makes it every single time to R2D2 now.

Not much to see.
20210323_180354 (resized).jpgI found this in the wire form above the VUK after a game recently.
Is this what I need to replace it?

Quoted from thechakapakuni:Ok he requested the self diag file, hopefully that will pinpoint what the issue is
Any update? Still having problem. Pinsound boots fine. Plays startup sound. Then nothing else.
If I update firmware or convert a package, it plays sound the whole way along. Then just no game sounds.

They said to upgrade the firmware. I haven’t gone back to my brothers to do it. Will report success/fail after that
Does anyone have a part number for Q44? I believe I traced a problem with the ball launch to that transistor but I don't know what the correct part number is for ordering a replacement part.
As per book is #Q44 on cpu board cn11 coil drive 1-8. tip 122 substitute is a TIP 102 number 5162-09410-00 at pinball life or Part Number TIP 122 Transistor,100 Volt, 5 Amp at Great plains electronics.
Do check the book page 29. There is another tip 36c #Q6 on ppb board and replace the 1n4004 diode on the launch ball coil. I learned the hard way and cooked a tip 122 and 36c.

Did you ever end up posting the R2D2 files? I just bought a 3D printed thing from a guy and came to think about this thread.
All of a sudden I am starting to get air balls when going up the ramp. I had three in the last game I played. I've had an occasional air ball before, but never so many in a single game. Any suggestions on what might be going on before I start investigating?

Any pix of the center ramp? How is the spring tempered blue steel flap?
Anybody know where to get the cabinet rocket power switch? It probably can be picked up at Home Depot but curious if there is a Marcos or official Data East part # available
Quoted from RebelGuitars:Anyone have an extra of this plastic they'd sell?

I have some extras
I have some also that I can part out.

I grabbed the Ministry ones. Love em. Get lots of compliments.

Just finished my restauration, have the Ministry ones as well. Looks great and was easy to install, just needed a bit of trimming under the backbox and for the button holes.
swde.gifHello all, here is a little maintenance feedback:
Yesterday, in a middle of a game, the dot display suddently swiched to large vertical lines, disapearing progressively in approx 15/20sec.
The game however continued to run, but the dot display stayed off after that.
I also discovered after some wierd behaviour like: no more controlled lights (flasher and general illumination would continue to work) and also games became ball illimited (as if the flipper stop to count the 3 balls only for a game).
After some testing, it appears that the 8A fuse support on the power cardn was faulty and was causing all theses disorders.
Hope it helps someone else.
Nicolas
Hi Guys! I´m looking for high quality images of the plastics. Something that I can work on Illustrator or Corel. Does anybody here have them or know where I can find some? Thanks!
Quoted from thechakapakuni:Make sure you have the power booster
I saw that item, but wasn't aware that I needed it. Is it an absolute necessity? If so, I'll have to order one.
Power booster is absolutely necessary to avoid the music cutting out. You should also consider replacing the stock speakers. Personally, I‘d recommend the headphones station for easy volume adjustment on the fly and for switching orchestrations. Oh, and you could consider adding the shaker. I like it a lot on my pin.
I’m ordering a new plastic set and wondering what you use to fit the lamps/brackets onto some of plastics? Pop rivets? The hammer down ones? What size should I order to attach them? Thanks

The rivets are "squeeze" type. This is the tool I bought to do them - http://www.pintonka.com/

Thanks a lot! What size rivets should you use? I can’t find anything about the size used? And here I thought this would be simple.

Not sure what to do about your importing issue though

Semi tubular rivets. 1/8 Dia. Sizes by 1/32"
Measure total thickness of components... then add clinching length for total size length.

Whew those are expensive. A C-clamp from Harbor Freight would do the same job.

Awesome, many thanks for that info. Just what I needed to know!
