Quoted from Haggy38:

I got these switches with just two connections instead three like original ones, can I make them work? How do I install the diode?

Answer:
1)can I make them work? YES.
2)How do I install the diode? You have to solder the anode end to the (white-x color) wire
-- and solder the cathode end to the microswitch. You should also add a nylon sleeve/tubing over
-- the diode and wire assembly.

Thanks, I will assemble and take some pictures, just to be sure!

Thx this is fantastic great help , is the cap a necessary part what damage is done without cap?

#2460 6 years ago
Quoted from roboclan:

cap a necessary part what damage is done without cap?

The capacitor is to help suppress arch noise when the relay energizes.

#2461 6 years ago

Our local store only has a 50 volt cap will this do or do i need 500 volts
otherwise its about a 2 week wait

#2462 6 years ago

Well it won't damage your new motor in short term, but you should get it as soon as possible.

#2463 6 years ago

Hu guys,

Im looking desperately these two parts, please if one of you got a used decent spare Im willing to buy it, mine won't hold to long

Dear @Haggy38.
Try #545-6277-00 & #545-6278-00
From Marcos and you have to modify.

If you have access to a 3D printer you can print one. I modeled that part and can give you the files if you need them

Wow that would be great!! I got a makerbot replicator 2 and monoprice mini, please send me the files, did you print them on abs I guess?

Gustavo

#2468 6 years ago

Pm me your email address and I’ll send them over. i printed them in petg with 100% infill but abs should work also. The main bracket will require supports and the smaller one wont

#2469 6 years ago

The green toggle switch to put mine into settings mode is broken - any ideas where I might find one? Not seeing replacements on any of the parts sites.

#2470 6 years ago

Oh, and anyone have a lead on replacement death star speaker grills? Doesn't look like anyone repros those... Mine were apparently replaced w/ lethal weapon 3 ones...So those are for trade, too, on the very unlikely chance someone needs those and had extra SW ones.

Hey all... Merry Christmas! I just realized that it was FIVE years ago yesterday (December 24, 2012) that my Star Wars Version 1.04 update was released!!!

(Then I put out version 1.06 on May 4, 2016 aka May The Fourth. And finally version 1.07 on December 17, 2016.)

Thank you for your work. Just got my desw and a 1.07 update. Can't wait to finish this game up.
Anyone know if I can put a shaker motor in here(seen some de games but not sw)? Got some gift cards today and ready to party.

#2474 6 years ago

ryandimx Pinsound was supposed to have a shaker motor option for their soundboards. Not sure if they ever finished it, have not checked in a while but might be a future option.

So close to being done. The display went out and a string of GI went out. Display is showing garbage. Double check ribbon cables and swapped a different DMD in and still getting garbage. First time working with a Data East so not quite sure what the obvious things would be for this game. Everything else seems to be functioning just fine and I can still play a game just without the display.

#2477 6 years ago

I have a new Pinball Wizard rubber kit left over for DESW. Anyone interested please send me a PM. TIA

Okay so getting some help with the display. It's definitely the DMD board with the issue.

Another thing I noticed. The death star is not spinning. I can hear and feel the motor moving but the post that holds the death star is really loose. Can I get in and tighten it or is it stripped?

The tall stem usually has some play with it....but, is the tall stem rotating?
If not, then the motor assembly is bad.
If the tall stem is turning, then you need to check if you have the flat washer that the DS model
rests on and also the top wash/nut are O.K.
If loose, then you need to tighten the top nut.

It's not spinning. The motor under is but the stem part is loose

If the tall shaft on the motor assembly is not rotating. Then, the motor assembly is bad.

That's a bargain compared to the $25,000 Back to the Future that's been on there.

#2485 6 years ago

Haha, I am watching it because I want to see if it really sells. If it does, mine is worth $20k!

#2486 6 years ago

Okay, try this another way...anyone have a hi-res scan of the death star speaker grills they could send me?

This is my first machine...good playable shape but lots of room for cosmetic improvement...I've put in LEDs, replaced most of the plastics, done some paint touch up (anyone know a match color for the red?), Titan bands, fixed a bunch of dead light sockets...think I'm going to
rebuild the pops next...
I'm too hooked on this hobby already for my wife's comfort, lol.

#2487 6 years ago

Oh, and could anyone post a shot of this area? There was a strangely placed plastic to keep the ball from getting trapped, and I can't remember how it went on, lol...

You got it right... are you missing the mini wire form that goes in back of the double G.I. lamps
that keep the ball from resting behind the two lamp sockets? Your picture does not show it from the angle it was taken.

#2490 6 years ago

Not sure what you're talking about, but I I bet it's the wire piece I found in the bottom that I didn't know where it came from, lol. I was asking about that random plastic that goes over Luke and apparently sticks behind r2 a bit. If you get a chance, could you post a pic of the wire you are referring to? Thanks!

#2491 6 years ago

Although, part of me finds it hilarious that the ball can stick behind Ackbar. It's a trap!

#2492 6 years ago
Quoted from Ollulanus:

could you post a pic of the wire you are referring to?

The wire form is shaped like a "J" or a "U" that has a round hole that you can put a #6-32 screw through.

Anyone replace the falcon plastic above the drop bank?

What's the trick to this, seems to be screwed and riveted.

#2494 6 years ago
Quoted from Psw757:

seems to be screwed and riveted.

The plastic is riveted. The top plastic screwed onto the falcon plastic.

#2495 6 years ago
Quoted from vec-tor:

The plastic is riveted. The top plastic screwed onto the falcon plastic.

I got the lights off the top with the two screws.

Just trying to figure out the best plan of attack for getting the falcon off the two metal brackets with rivets. Don’t want to make matters worse.

Then how to get the new plastic installed, rivet or screw?

#2496 6 years ago

You can buy rivets and a knurling tool, its pretty easy to do.

#2497 6 years ago

I used one of these X-Wing fighter figures to add an X-Wing to my DESW (yeah, I know it is from the wrong move, but it is close enough for me). I mounted it pretty high to keep it from getting hit by airballs and to try to keep a good sight path to the deathstar target. It is probably a little too high, but I like it well enough.

Anyone have a part number for the back glass lift trim?

#2499 6 years ago

Hello all,
I have a DMD issue that I have been troubleshooting and am stuck. My DMD is not getting power. Everything else works but the screen is blank. I have tested the voltage going to the DMD board and 5V and 12V is fine except the 68V gives me nothing. I then tested the power going to the PPB and I think its ok but am not sure. The Molex has seen better days (pictured). Is the 68V the bottom middle? The manual doesn't have those pins labeled very good. I checked the path from the power in (CX1) to the power out (CX5) of the PPB and it looks like it only passes through 2 points. D5 and R15 in the manual. Continuity on D5 seems ok... but I don't know what the heck R15 is (Pictured). How do you check continuity for that? Am I missing something else? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
