Hi all,

I'm having an issue with my DE ST25 resetting. When first turned on and cool it plays fine. I leave it on in attract mode for a few hours and push the Start button the game eject a ball into the plung lane and then will quickly reset, shoot the ball back into the trough and sit in attract mode again.

I restored this game 8 years or so ago and installed a new (at the time) Pinscore power supply. The game has had light play time since then. I have no burnt connectors. When I restored the game I replaced all the ones that looked suspect or burnt. I only feel warmth on some of the connectors when touching the connectors when this issue is happening.

I measure good solid voltage at all test points on the Pinscore power supply board when sitting in attract mode. However when I push the start button I can see the +5v LED blink off very quickly when the reset happens. I haven't tried to put a multimeter on the 5v test point when I push the start button to see what happens. I suspect what ever is happening does so so fast that it wouldn't be picked up. However I can try.

Any ideas on where to look? Perhaps the AC feed to the power supply that the board uses to convert to 5v???

OK, I think I got it. First I lifted the playfield and fiddled with the trough switches and their diodes and connections. Then I did the same with other switches and coils in the area. I did this just in cast there was a diode broken or something shorting out or broken. All looked good.

Then I looked at the main power connector coming from the transformer going to the power supply board. This is the flat 4 pin connector with 2 yellow and 2 white wires. This connector looked kinda brown and pulled apart easily. I went ahead and replaced this connection with new molex pins.

Now all seems well with no resets. It's been on now for a couple hours and I played a bunch of games. It must have been heating up and restricting power flow through it causing a bad connection.
