Longshot guess but could the speakers be out of phase? + to + and - to - ? That can make sound not be there that should be but I can't say I've ever heard of that in pinball. Just thought I'd float it out there...
Unrelated, I installed a pin2dmd and my overall noise level dropped considerably. Might have been loose grounds but I don't think so... Just happy it's now quiet enough I may not add additional ps.
