I had to break away each piece from the base, drill a hole in the bottom and then screw it to the Plexi plate I made to stop air balls.

Nice mod! Looks like it was made for it.
I wanted to make a mention of Marco's work in Italy. Got the Simpsons backglass today and he has done an amazing reproduction job.

Just instagram and email.
I was lucky to stumble across it.
20220428_153926 (resized).jpgIs Homers lucky scratch n match in the settings somewhere? My Simpsons has never done this at the end of a game...didn't even know about it until I saw a few videos of other people playing theirs.

IIRC when you have your game set to freeplay, there's no scratch-n-match. No need for free credits if it's free to play anyway, right? I believe it's adjustment #33.

Does anyone know the purpose of the lights on Homers feet and when they activate? Don't have my machine running yet to find out.

Green one lights up to let you know when the playfield needs cleaning. Red one lights up when there's a switch problem, kind of like a credit dot. See pages 19-20 in the manual.

Quoted from MStem80:Does anyone have art blades installed? I'd be interested to see pics if you do.
PF not done yet but the RR blades. They require a cut to fit around the bracket, so may not be the easiest to install without removing PF or just cutting them slimmer beforehand.
I added some side blades to my Simpsons and Freddy last weekend from tilt graphics. Here's some pics for reference, I couldn't find any pics when I was trying to get an idea of what these would look like before I bought them.

This was originally owned by a collector friend who passed away in a motorcycle accident over 20 years ago. At that time it went to a mutual collector friend. He is moving away from the hobby, so this became available. I was happy to get it (along with a Baby Pac Man which also belonged to the original owner).
Have to get it set up but it came with some fun extras, including NOS plastics.

IMG_6391 (resized).jpg
IMG_6392 (resized).jpg
IMG_6393 (resized).jpg
These appear to be NOS plastiocs but are clear with a blue color background. There is no color whatsoever, and there is no backing paper on most of the plastics (One pic shows the blue covering but also what it looks like once removed)
Any idea what these were for?

I've seen a DE Simps with blue plastics like that here on Long Island, word is that they're for early sample games.
that one on the right top that goes over the main ramp should be clear, i guess they would make those clear even on sample games, so that would give me the idea they are not originals for a sample game or anything
It’s really dumb what makes me happy. The front of the cabinet is rough on my Simpsons and the shooter housing was just fine, but saw this and for some reason needed to have it. WTF is wrong with me?

Unfortunately not. The part # in the manual shows 500-5021-10. The link at PinballLife says that is nto compatible

How do you access the millions lamps? Do you have to remove the pf? Can’t see any easy way to access them as the pf is just on a basic hinge.
Thanks

There are 4 phillips head screws you remove to access the bulbs.

Quoted from CryptKeeperAUS:Anyone looking to overlay thier Simpsons, I can confirm the one supplied by flipper.shopping in France is spot on. Alignment match was close to perfect. Artwork spot on. Colors great and vibrant.[quoted image]
What’s the finish like? Can you do some close up pics please?
Quoted from BurnDizzyBurn:What’s the finish like? Can you do some close up pics please?
Finish in the surface if the decal is matt but once it's cleared it will look like any other PF with the wet gloss finish.
There are more photos on my refurb thread .

20220623_135619 (resized).jpgHas anyone has any ghosting issues with thier machine? I have found data east to be fairly good. Also wondering if anyone has a definitive LED list? Comet doesn't have a Simpsons kit. Cheers.
Any one have it where shooting the bowling drops the ball will bounce off and smash the glass? Any fix / adjustment for this? Thx

I used Comet Non Ghosting 2SMD Cool White in mine and I do seem to have some ghosting, but I'm not sure if that is the fault of the LED's or a lamp issue as I didn't play it with incandescent when I got it. I may have to switch back to troubleshoot the issue.

I have 13 Data East pins with Comet regular LED, no problems ever. NG not required.
Flashers on Laser War are tricky due to warming resistors but that's another story.
Cheers.. sounds like Comet is the go. I was looking at pinballbulbs as they have a kit, might just have to take the time and make up a list to order. I have ony ever had ghosting in my Sega pin and it required an OCDLED.

I flipped the bracket right above those targets over. Not exactly pretty, but it provides a little awning that seems to stop the glass strikes.

Read back on the forum and someone was selling air ball stopper plastics.. there very effective in my TFTC. You can also have a look at your flipper coil strength settings. If I recall there is an adjustment for this on The Simpsons.

Here's the post in question: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/data-east-simpsons-club-ay-caramba/page/3#post-6690609
I've DMed the creator to see if there are extras to sell, but I haven't heard back from him in a while.
Let me know if you have luck... still very interested in buying one!
Does anyone know what the error flags relate to? I am getting a "Error Flag 0018" when I go into the audit menu. I cannot find anywhere what this error means in the manual or online. Any help would be appreciated.
I'm in the club, the last DE I was looking to add to my collection.
Since the center plastic is gone, I suspect there will be one of my custom Lexan air ball deflectors and plastic being manufactured like I did for Checkpoint and LW3 in the near future.

There a great addition to end the annoying, random glass hit. TFTC is another DE machine I have one on. Will you be selling any? I'm making up a custom one for Simpsons but would be happy to pick one up.

Let me see how this comes out and I'll let you know, my time is usually a wreck so don't tend to do extras.
Hey everyone - I've been working through a refresh of a Simpsons cabinet for a bit. Everything is working well, so now I'm in the "details" stage electronically. Far from the "details" stage on the cabinet itself.
I've noticed that with my game, I can very clearly HEAR the attract mode lamp flashing patterns in the speakers. It's a light "buzz. buzz. buzz. buuUuuUuuUuuzzz" that PERFECTLY matches the GI lightshow pattern. When a game starts, sound is perfectly normal and the rhythmic buzzing disappears.
I've checked over all of my grounds and wiring on and around the sound board, everything looks ok. I haven't capped the sound board - didn't know if that was a normal thing to do on these game.
I wasn't sure if this was a common issue, or if I have something strange going on - has anyone encountered this? I tried to search the forum, but my term combination may have missed something.
