I recently had the backbox open on my Tommy and noticed a lot of heat coming from a group of 8 resistors on the PPB stamped 3w27ohmJ. These were so hot that I couldn't touch any of them for more than a second. Not sure what they are for but believe they're part of the flashlamp system.
I know DE PCBs are known as heat generators but I thought this was strange. Other similar resistors on the board seem to run much cooler.
Like to know if anyone else has noticed this on their DE game especially if its a Tommy. Wondering if this is normal and if there are replacements available that don't run so hot.

Hot on my Tommy, LW3, Maverick and Baywatch too. No big deal.

Yup, normally very hot.

I havent looked closely, but i assume you can change the lamp column driver to a MOSFET so you do not need those current limiting resistors. I think this circuit is identical to what WMS came up with around system 3.

Thanks for the replies guys, much appreciated.

If memory serves correct, was not this board nicknamed the "Popcorn" board, due to is heat?
