I am working on a Jurassic Park where it must have been hit by lightning. I replaced every board except the sound board. The game now boots up. (I will fix them afterwards, I am lucky enough to keep spares to get games working faster.)

But the coils on the brown wire are not working. The brown wire goes to PPB J6 pin 3 (p.31). The board picture on p. 65 clearly shows the board has 6 fuses. But the schematic on page 65 shows J6 p 3 going through K1 to F7 to J6 p6. I do not have Fuse 7, 8 or 9 on this game or the replacement board I put in.

(Actually pin 1 and 2 are brown wires. There is no wire into pin 3, but schematic shows p1, 2, and 3 go to K1 then to fuse 7. It also shows J6 p4 and p5 go through F6 (which is good) and to K1 and out through F7 to J6 p6.)

I could buy a Rottendog that has the extra 3 fuses. Is there anything else to try to get these coils to work? The game I assume worked at some previous time.

I will also test the L/R relay since I realized that may be the issue.

Thanks
Michael

More information:

I had the play field up and didn't realize the the 2L Ball Release (the VUK from the trough) was engaging as soon as I turned on the game.

I replaced the coil (23-800) and it still engages. New coil reads 4 Ohms.

This should be Q45. I put the DMM into continuity test and put one lead on ground loop or one of the screws on the board and one on the tab, it did not beep for any of the TIP122s.

I tried to test the 1N4401 but not sure I am testing correctly.

I was hoping that Q45 would beep so I would know to replace it and 1N4401.

When i turn on the game, this coil energizes. When I go into diagnostics, it stays energized so I have quickly turned off the game.

Replace the mosfet controlling the coil.

Quoted from Gunnut40:

Replace the mosfet controlling the coil.

Thanks. I’ll try changing both.
