Data East, 1990My Data east simpsons display stopped working, i checked the power supply and I am getting -130 volts at the -100 Volt connector, before i realized that was so out of wack i replaced a u16 chip on the display board and replugged it in. Sparks flew everywhere. i checked my soldering and everything appears ok as far as my soldering job, so i am thinking that the -130 volts is frying that chip. What is the most likely culprit on the power supply board that I need to replace?

Mike3h said« Using a 1N4004 at D10 on a -00 power supply will allow way too much voltage through and run the small DMD display much too bright. This was done on displays that are outgassed, to use them beyond their normal life, delaying the cost of replacing the display. »
Maybe your D10 is a wrong model?
