What kind of alternative are you thinking about? I just recently purchased one to completely rebuild and have been slowly rounding up parts...mine came without any boards, so that has been my first mission. I have a newer aftermarket power supply, and the original PPB board, so far. Working on getting a sound board, aftermarket scoreboard, and either original mpu if I can find one at a decent price, or suck it up and buy an aftermarket mpu, as well. I'm also in the market for a full set of legs.

My DE Playboy came with no boards, and I am finally done buying boards, but I was hoping that I could get some closeup pics of someone else's game so I have a better idea of where all of the connectors go on the boards? It would be a great help, and I appreciate it if it can be done. Thank you.

Give me a better idea of which plastics you are looking for and I have extras I will let you know....I did purchase the CPR bling version so I'm in no need of the current set that I have for the machine. I would be happy to help out a fellow pinhead!!

Starting to slowly get my machine piece mealed back together. Looking for a little assistance with the speaker connections. Mine have been cut. Can I get a picture of the ends where the speakers hook up to, that would be helpful. Here is what mine looks like:

I actually just picked one up and had to remove the head to move it. Thought I had to cut the speaker wires until I realized there was a plug to disconnect from the wire harness. It's too bad they didn't figure it out too.

I can take some pictures for you but it might not be until tomorrow.

This is my first pin. I had to do major work on the boards to make it stable. I did put in the flash/ram chip to eliminate the batteries and recapped the sound board. Read the DE service bulletins. I put inline fuses for the coils that can stick open. This happened to me and roasted about 10 output transistors. I know this is my opinion but I spent about $200 on LED's with the premium faceted 3500k white LED's and color matched high quality ones for the colored inserts and it had a unbelievable change. It made it look 20 years newer. Power consumption went down with LED's and it seemed to help the power supply and less heat/hot spots. I also have a pinscore I believe power supply and not the original as well as replacing the display.

Sounds great...i can use as many pics as I can get. Also, under playfield pics of wires going to thumper bumpers, flippers. My machine was raided to complete another machine, so now I'm getting all the missing pieces back to revive it. Can't wait for it to be finished. Definitely doing LED's, too. They make a pin look new and play is more fun. Thank you for your replies and help.

Hopefully these post in the correct order:

First picture is the wiring for the speaker panel. The ring terminal goes under the wingnut on the left side of your photo. The ground braid should also be under that wingnut.

Second picture is the location it plugs into the wire harness (lower left) It's near where it splits in a bunch of directions and doesn't have very far to go to...

The third picture which is the plug for the board which I've labeled CN1.

I will hopefully have someone help me move this into the basement today so I can start re-assembling. I can post more pictures then. I might need some help identifying wiring for connectors which were soldered directly to the boards so had to be cut. It was supposedly fully working, but who knows.

Oh sorry, I see they have stripes through the corresponding wire, my bad. Ill be in touch with more q&a soon once I get more into it. Going to swap out a better playfield I found first and clear coat it before I delve any further. Anybody in need of a playfield, I'll have one that's not too bad... Touch up in game room section and couple spots on the water and gold by stand up targets. I might even do the touch ups first before I sell it off. Thanks again

Curious, why is there a black speaker housing and a gold one? Were there different options for this machine? Mine came with a black one but i purchased a gold one and have to make some modifications to make it work properly.

Just wanted to shoot out a FYI to anyone in this club interested in used plastics for this machine, i have some that I'm willing to part with to any of you first before i go and list them on eBay or Pinside market place. Let me know what you need with a picture to my inbox and I'll let you know what i have...i upgraded to a new set and I have no use for the originals.

Getting into the reconstruction of this monster some more. I've included pics of where I could use some help. Don't know how the back of the slide, where mansion is on top, is mounted on back of playfield. Next, what does that switch do that's mounted on back of mansion? Where does other switch go that is attached to that small harness? What is the purpose of the two screws in the side of the slide? I need a pic of the switch mounted underneath the playfield of left outlane switch. And, how is the other slide connected in back, as well?... Last question, what pieces go behind 3-stand up target? Lots of questions, but I'm stumped on these sections. I've included pics for all my questions. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I got this machine stripped and it's got alot of little spots i can't find pics to help me on the internet... I'm almost there though!!

I figured out the switches on the mansion.... Just need help with the rest.

Hello all....any chance I could get a couple up close pics of the slingshot set up under the playfield....I need to see the wiring going from both switches to make sure I'm not missing something. Thank you for any help.

DE PB35 owners out there.... Two questions.
1) If you stop the ball or take it off the field of play for like thirty seconds without it hitting anything, do your VUK and Champagne kickers activate? Mine does and I'm guessing its either not supposed to do that or it does it in case the ball gets stuck so the machine knows to activate them to get the ball moving again?

2) What is the purpose of these two screws on the right slide?? See pic.

The two screws are there to keep a ball from getting stuck. Your lost ball kicker action is normal. Mine does it too.

Sound Board help --- Can someone please verify that capacitors go into C6 and C7, and what size they are? I think they are 4.7uf at 100 volts, but I want to make sure before I solder some in there. Thank you.

Mine was a complete basket case....i spent a year and a half getting it to be whole working machine.

No boards, missing some of the playfield equipment, no back picture, cut wiring, missing almost all of the solenoids....a mess. But i got it super cheap and just took my time with it....

I'm in need of a new lock down bar for my Playboy 35th. Anyone have one for sale or know where I can order one? So far I've only found the black Data East lock down bars, like the one I have on my Monday Night Football.

Are there any other bars that are compatible with this machine that I could use instead?

After having a Playboy 35th project sitting in the shop for about 6 years now, I'm finally getting around to doing it. It's mostly a "find that part" game to get it all put back together. I've gone through the game pretty good this evening and have a few things I'd like to have confirmed and a couple questions if anyone's willing to help out with that. I just picked up an MPU today with no acid damage and have a new ppb, power supply, and display on the way as well, since all those are missing. Awesome! So, here we go:

I couldn't find either of these answers in the manual/schematics that I downloaded from ipdb:

2 fuses by the bridge rectifiers in the back box, what are their values? mine are missing
5 fuses on the right inside of the back box, what are their values? are these GI fuses? mine are missing

There were also no lights in the back box. I see 89's in the schematic so I assume those are the correct flashers for the back box panel.

906 flashers are under the playfield and 555's elsewhere.

I couldn't find a part number for the playfield glass trim at the back (top). This should work correct? https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/03-8091

The mounts for the display are missing and I don't see any part numbers or reference to them in the manual. Any information on what should be there? Bolts? Plastic stand offs?

As far as the lockdown bar, I compared to my Pinbot and my Xenon, and I can only confirm that Bally and Williams bars will NOT work. The Data East have the lugs spread wider.

I think I have a manual that shows the fuse sizes somewhere. I'll let you know if I find it.

Thanks for the info on the display standoffs. I see them listed on Marco and come in sizes ranging from 1/4" long to 7/8" long. Any chance you can measure these so I can get the correct ones? According to Marco, they should be secured with a #6 self tapping screw from the back side as well.

I've also been told the correct fuses for the 2 fuse holders by the bridge rectifiers are 8 amp slow blow, and the 5 bank of fuse holders mounted on the right inside of the back box is a retrofit kit that was used to fuse the pop bumper and slingshot coils. Those 5 should all be 2.5 amp slow blow fuses. There is also a service bulletin that I didn't have in the downloaded manual that shows these added to the game. Good to know!

What's with the speaker panels? Did they come from the factory with both gold and black versions? I see lots of photos online with gold and lots with black. Mine happens to be black.

Here's a little update on the Playboy 35th:

So, it looks like the display is mounted on blind hole standoffs. I checked out my Monday Night Football and they look to be the same. Found them on Marco to order as well.

For everyone's reference, I've also attached a photo of the 2 fuse holders that should be 8 amp slow blow by the bridge rectifiers (photo 1), and the 5 fuse block retrofit kit on the right inside of the back box that should all be 2.5 amp slow blow (photo 2).

There is a Europe tag on one of the wire harnesses, and it looks like there are some plug ins for a 220 power cord in here as well (photo 3), so I'll have to check and make sure the transformer is wired correct. That information is on page 28 of the manual. Currently, there is nothing in the cabinet that would go into those large round white plugs, and the power cord that would normally go out the back of the cabinet has been cut off inside the cabinet just before it would exit. New power cord is on hand.

This game has a pair of wires coming off of the speaker in the lower cabinet and one of them has a 3.9uf/50v capacitor soldered on to it (photo 4). Does anyone have any idea what that is about? First time I've seen anything like that. I'm going to remove them and hook up the speaker wires there as they should be though.

The playfield glass back trim piece that I mentioned from Marco should work as well after measuring and confirming shaping.

Also, someone requested Playboy 35th slingshot photos. The first 3 photos are of my left slingshot, which is complete EXCEPT for the diode that is shown in the 4th photo. Keep in mind though that the 4th photo is of my right slighshot, which is NOT complete, but only there to show the positioning of the switch diode that is missing from the left slingshot. Hope that's not too confusing, but all the connection points are there. Both sides should be connected in the same manner.

I have a bunch of extra parts for this machine if you are in need of anything. I brought mine back from the dead a couple years ago.

Looking for some confirmation on what goes behind the "pinball" lights that light up between the back box speakers. I think it's just a light board like the others with the twist in sockets, but some photos of how that is all set up would be great.

If anyone has those parts as well, I'd be interested!

Also looking for a nonbroken speaker panel.

Chris at pinballreplacement parts is willing to take on the project of creating a new board for the lamps that go behind the "pinball" plastic between the speakers in the back box on Playboy 35th and I need some good photos and more information for him to get started on this.

I just heard back from Chris today and he's willing to give this project a go.

If anyone here is willing to take photos of the board showing how it is mounted, and a good photo of each side of the board that would be AWESOME! Let's get this project rolling for all

It would also be super helpful to have dimensions between any mounting holes/brackets and the exact spacing between the lights and location of them on the board itself.

I don't think this board would have diodes on it, but that is another question that will need to be answered as well.

The circuit board is mounted on an MDF spacer with holes drilled for the bulbs. Hope these pictures help.
