So I picked up a project Batman yesterday I am trying to get going again. It is missing the solid state flipper board. Before I go and order a new one, does anyone have a used flipper board they would be willing to sell?

Also, why on earth are there so many Batman machines with blown out playfields? I swear mine looks like someone took a sander to it. Lucky for me, mine came with a re-printed playfield, but I need to clear coat it. It will be a summer project for me.

I have located a board, and I thank everyone who has offered up a board for my Batman.

I'm working may way through my Batman trying to get it all up and running, and discovered last night I am missing the shooter lane switch assembly (DE part 500-5303-00). From what I take looking around at the various websites is that this is not available as an assembly. Can anyone tell me the part numbers for the switch itself, and the base the switch mounts to?

I have a rom compatibility question for you guys.

My Batman has been having an occational issue with the sound card rebooting in the middle of a game. I suspect it may be the ribbon cable, but I wanted to run another possibility past the group.

My display roms are V1.02, and the game roms are V1.03. The sound roms are not marked so I don't know what version they are. The game roms are not the originals (they don't even have covers over the windows). If the sound roms are also V1.02, and the game roms are V1.03, will this cause issues?

Sound roms rarely if ever change and usually don't have a version just a date.

That’s what I suspected.

I think solved my problem. One of the caps on the sound board puked all over the power connection. I replaced the cap (along with a few others on the board), and it seems to be working fine now.

Ive got one other sound issues with my DE Batman I am trying to address. The left speaker gives off a random popping/crackling sound. This is different than the well document DE buzz. The popping is completely random, and doesn't seem to follow any patter with the DMD or lights. Could this be a failing amplifier?

Just to close this out, I fixed it. I had to clean up the sound board after one of the caps puked its guts out. I recapped the entire board. I had one cap in the damaged area that didn't make a good connection, and after I cleaned it up some more and got a better solder joint, the popping sound went away.
