Quoted from Inkochnito:There are only three games of which there are no knockers listed in the solenoids table/schematics.
These are:
Monday Night Football (allthough there is a report now there is a knocker)
Phantom of the Opera
Robocop
Isochronic_Frost: If you can provide me with the wire colors or maybe even the transistor, I will add the knocker to my Tech Chart for MNF.

My Phantom of the Opera does not have a knocker.

Quoted from gdonovan:This sounds really odd, but I'm thinking about building a pin and the theme will be.. Data East.
It could have ramps and shots from various DE games along with various game call outs. Hit the pop bumpers? Einstein bonus building. Hit a trapdoor? Get the voice from Phantom of the Opera. Shoot the ramp 8 times to light "DATA EAST" Choose a sound track from 1 of 6 DE games. And so on.
I'm still stirring the concept in my head, though.
This sounds really REALLY cool actually! Would love to follow that project!
Chris
Quoted from damadczar:FYI - Selling an unused GI Maestro board + Davi Opto Trough boad.
If you hate that relay clicking in DE games, and want to dim your LEDs in the backbox during play, you need the GI Maestro.

Thanks,

PM sent on this.
I am on the fence about selling my PoTO. It's my only DE game. tell me why I should or should not. LOL
Chris
Quoted from Bellystyle:The only Data East worth owning is Tales From the Crypt. Fight me....
I guess I'll have to get into a "TIME MACHINE" (one of the most awesome Data East games ever) and check out TFTC.
Chris
Would anyone be interested in a Data East trade? I have a Phantom of the Opera in what I consider good condition. I am wanting a Time Machine in similar shape.
I am in the Allentown, PA area and would be going to the show. LMK if anyone has something and would consider this.
Chris
Back in the Data East club!
Brought home a Simpsons today. Need to get it set up and make sure it's working. Came with NOS plastics and some other surprises!
Chris
IMG_6359 (resized).jpgIMG_6367 (resized).jpgIMG_6369 (resized).jpgIMG_6370 (resized).jpgIMG_6372 (resized).jpgIMG_6375 (resized).jpgI do have one question. The Simpsons I got came with a NOS plastics set. It also came with these:
These appear to be NOS plastiocs but are clear with a blue color background. There is no color whatsoever, and there is no backing paper on most of the plastics (One pic shows the blue covering but also what it looks like once removed)
Any idea what these were for?
Looking for a black lockdown bar for a DE Simpsons machine.
Let me know if you have one available.
Thanks!
Chris
Quoted from PinballManiac40:Fit my DE JP perfectly. Game is on loan so I can't check the fit on my DE Simpsons at this time.
https://www.pinballlife.com/sternsegadata-east-black-front-molding-lockdown-bar-no-tournament-button-hole.html
Hmmmm.
In he description though - Fits most Data East games except the widebody games (WWF and Guns -N- Roses). A few DE games use lockdown bar #500-5021-10. Games calling for that lockdown bar are not compatible with this lockdown bar. Please refer to your game's manual or call us (847-515-3415) for clarification.
My manual calls out the Part # 500-5021-10
I think I'm out of luck

My Time Machine displays are not working on the backglass. Everything else seems to be fine.
What is the approach for trying to track down whether it is a loose wire or the display itself? Or anyone else go through this?
Thanks in advance.
Mine did this when I got it home also. On my machine, the ribbon cables were loose. Hope it's as easy a fix for you too!
Chris
Ok so before I totally destroy something I thought I’d post to the group. I have a Time Machine and the speaker grille is not ideal. So a NOS one came up and I bit. Received it today and it’s beautiful………BUT…. Slightly different that what is already in the machine. Of course I didn’t realize it until I took almost everything apart.
Main issue is that there are no holes to reattach the channel for the back glass. Then I noticed that the sides are different. Has anyone ever switched theirs out and if so did you run into these issues?

Well this speaker panel is most definitely NOT for Time Machine. Not sure what it is for, but would need much work to be useable. Would need areas cut out for the wood blocks in the cabinet to hold it. Also would need the holes drilled for the channel for the backglass to be riveted onto it.
I have decided it is more than I want to take on with the risk of damaging it. Does anyone happen to know what it is for?
Would like to recoup at least some of my investment.
Chris
Quoted from vec-tor:The new old stock part you have is for Data East's first game, Laser War.
The speaker grill assembly is carriage bolted into the back box.
Thank you.
Anyone need it? Will sell at a loss
Chris
My Simpsons machine just started doing this. On power on, it plays the background music continuously. Any idea what would make that happen and what the fix could be?
Chris
Quoted from PinballManiac40:With power off, press on all the sound board ICs that are in IC sockets, reseat all connectors to the sound board, and reseat both ends of the sound board ribbon cable, including at the MPU board.
I had done this (or so I thought) before but did it just now and it worked! Thanks!
Chris
