Purchased this kit from a fellow Pinsider. I have to say this might be one of the best mods/upgrades I’ve ever done on one of my games.
This new translite alone looks 1000% better than the original. I mean it’s freaking beautiful in person.

I haven’t installed the Marilyn face decal yet since I have to clean the Existing wax off first and I’m out of cleaner.

Quoted from JohnJN:

looking for confirm if the cardboard box in my cabinet is a standard thing for the game lol

I can’t speak for Batman owners.... but my Phantom comes with the OEM small brown box, AND I picked up a nice aftermarket long white one for it as well!

The only wide body made is the DE WWF Royal Rumble.

Quoted from BrettRS:

I figured it out, a washer on the ramp mechanism got stuck in the guide where it pivots to lift. Removed the screw, fixed the washer, and retightened, all good now.

Gotta love those easy fixes.

Quoted from gdonovan:

Anyone have a good scan of the spinner decals for Playboy? Mine is totally missing the spinner.
If no dice, I'll just make up something with the playboy logo or foil tape.

Marco carries the spinner decals

Also, I highly recommend getting the custom Marilyn Monroe translite. It looks 1000% better than the original.

Quoted from gdonovan:

I don't have any pending orders with Marco and the spinner is already on the way.
On the translite: too much Marilyn for me, was never a fan.

Understandable. Shipping would be silly on just a couple decals.

Too bad you didn’t post this a week earlier, I just tore my playboy apart and cleaned it last week. I installed my new decals then.

I dont need a simpsons ramp.... but ill throw my vote in for Option 1. I think most would be happy to pay a little extra to have a complete ramp without messing with rivots, and also have new lamp sockets as well.

Quoted from SantaEatsCheese:

So… I am really beginning to think Data East games are underappreciated. I have had 4, 2 of which were part of package deals I only got to briefly keep and I’ve loved every second of these. They are also tremendous bang for your buck. I’ve had:
1. Jurassic Park. The Dinosaur eats the ball! Absolutely the best bang for the buck I’ve ever had in a pin and a top 5 pin for me.
2. Last Action Hero. Magnets and a moving crane?
3. Robocop. Only got 10 plays in while I had it, but great theme, music, callouts.
4. Torpedo Alley. My new love. Awesome sound, good art, good flow, cool toys… I love the corny translate.
I understand that Williams has the classics but these are just so much fun. Which would you rather have, that NIB Stern LE or ALL 4 GAMES I JUST MENTIONED!
I constantly here people poo-pooing on these and limiting themselves to other brands. That’s fine… keep these cheap for me!

I currently have 2 DE.
Phantom of the opera
and
Playboy.
Previously owned a Tales from the Crypt (wife STILL wont let me live down selling it)

Both my POTO and PB are simple rules sets, but.... they both play great, and built like tanks, and have great artwork. And pound for pound..... they are alot of fun.

When I bought my Playboy i had zero interest in it before that. Wasnt really ever wanting it. Was just going to shop it and use it for trade bait since I got it for a great deal. But after cleaning it and upgrading the lights and rings. Then adding a few personal touches to it... I kind fell in love with it LOL. Now Im not sure I want to sell it. Especially after I won "Best Solid State game" with it at the recent PinBrew

Data East games do get a bad wrap most of the time for sure and its not fair.

Quoted from Mr68:

I got with a buddy of mine and rethemed my Secret Service game into Mission Impossible, (subcategory SS)
We just changed the translite as the playfield is already friendly towards a retheme and the main music perfectly matches now.[quoted image][quoted image]

That looks really good! Makes me actually want to get one

Quoted from snyper2099:

Not only that, you will need to either desolder the GI fuses or unscrew the holders and harness from the rest of the wires. It's an EXTREME pain to remove a sys11 or DE head from a game.

I have a Phantom of the Opera and a Playboy 35th that I have to remove the heads to get in and out of the house and I have never had to desolder anything.

Just removed head bolts, remove half of the hinges, unplug connectors going to the lower cabinet and that’s it.

Pain in the ass yes. But not too bad.
