I didn't see a club for Data East The Simpsons so I guess this is the place!

A couple questions about the multiball.
Is there any point to playing 2 ball multiball other than trying to lock them both for 3 ball? I know each time you get a new ball it relights the mystery ramp and that's useful but there are no playfield bonuses for playing 2 ball correct?

In 3 ball is there anything to do after you get the jackpot? I hit my biggest jackpot today at 3.5 million and I'm pretty sure I hit the bowling pins again and nothing happened so it doesn't look like you can get multiple jackpots. Probably just try to cradle a ball in the left flipper and go to town on the ramp to get millions after you hit the jackpot?

Ok took the glass off today and answered my questions. Nope, no bonus multipliers for playing 2 ball. Really only point of it is to get another shot at the mystery value or lock them and go for 3 ball. After getting the Jackpot in 3 ball there is nothing left to do expect play normally. Little bit disappointed in this as I played today later and got the jackpot and had already hit the 5 bank enemies drop targets 3 times so the only thing left to do was hit the millions ramp again. Got just a hair under 12 million. I did find out that when you get the millions more than once in a game the time you have to get millions goes down each time you relight.

Anyone have a solution idea for ball hop to the flippers? I’ve tried adjusting the entire flipper mech position and different flipper rubbers.
The game is LW3.

Do you mean as the ball is rolling from the in lane to the flippers you get a hop instead of it rolling smoothly?

I have had that on both my games. On one the lane guide near the flipper had been hit by the ball so many times it was mushrooming a dented spot. I used a
Hand file and made it flat in about 30 seconds. On my other game I just loosened the screw on the lane guide and pushed it down a hair then re tightened.

On DE Simpsons, can you change the special to award points instead of extra balls? On my Comet you can and it makes going for the special fun in a home setting. In the manual I see that I can set replay to award credit, extra ball, ticket or audit. Not sure what ticket means. The big reward for dropping the enemies 5 bank drop targets on the right the third time is 125k and special is lit in the spinner shot. I find I don't go after the enemies target after 2 times because it's not worth it. I don't want to change it to extra ball as there are already 3 ways to get an extra ball in the game, (mystery award, hitting the enemies twice and then hitting the right VUK, and getting to 6x donuts and hitting the right VUK.)
Thanks

So I went through the audit menu today after work and the game menu for changing the replay value is not what the manual says. In the game menu I can only change it from special to credit to extra ball to none. Anyone know what the difference between special and credit is? I changed it back and forth and both awarded a free game, neither of which are worth going for in the home environment.

Thanks for the link. Anyone had an issue with the ball kicker arm? The only issue I have with my Tommy, ball has to kick up several times before making it. Thanks.

I had that with my Data East Simpsons. Kept playing it and eventually smelled something burning. Replaced the transistor Q46 and everything worked great.

Playing data East Simpsons last night and the knocker went off when I got the special but then I thought I heard another pop and now I have no bass sounds. The cabinet speaker is working, both backbox speakers are working, the game plays fine but the sound is very high pitched and tinny sounding. I have not had much experience with sound issues so not sure where to start, any guesses as to what I would start looking at as the culprit?

Start by posting a picture of the sound board.

Thanks I will do that when I get home from work.

I don’t see any leaky or bulged deformed caps.

That is what I was hoping to see.
With power off, rotate the volume control pot back and forth several times and try again.

Wow that’s weird it’s working fine! Thanks!
What do you think would have caused this?

#2200 3 years ago
Quoted from PinballManiac40:

This happened to me before. Bad/dirty contacts inside the pot. You may want to get some contact cleaner and spray inside it and rotate it back and forth again.

Ok thanks again will do.
I don’t remember what game it was but a few years ago I had a crackling sound and did the contact cleaner and working it back and forth and it fixed it, didn’t know the pot could cause the bass sounds to do that.
