Just throwing it out there, but I am hoping to make replacement ramps soon for TMNT and Checkpoint. If anyone would like to be put on the interest list for either of these, please send me a PM and I will be sure to add you. As always, no money is due until the ramp is ready to ship. Also, if someone has a broken TMNT ramp they would like to donate, a new TMNT ramp will be provided free of charge to the donor. Thanks!

I'll call it a Festivus miracle! Checkpoint ramps are in the final tuning stage.

That's what I'm talking about! Excellent feedback! Thank you

I am working on making a new repro TMNT ramp...its a complicated project, but I think I can pull it off.

Quoted from nvu4prod:

I just received Jody's repro Checkpoint ramp, absolutely stunning! I still need to attach the front entrance flap before installing. Once I do, I'll update the
thread with pics! Thanks again Jody, great work!!

Can't wait to see it!!

FYI Data East fans....
The Simpsons and Batman are currently going to be my two main focus points for new ramps this summer. Freeplay40 makes the Batman skill shot ramp already...I am hoping to get the big one done. This summer...not before then though.

I have the DE simpsons ramp coming up for production shortly, and I am trying to decide what is easier for the end user when it comes to the 5 flasher sockets-

Option 1- I include the sockets already installed (with rivets), and the end user solders the wires onto the sockets themselves.

Option 2- I don't include the sockets, and the user will drill out the rivets on the old ramp, and reattach the sockets/harness to the new ramp via rivets or #5 bolt/screws.

Option 2 is a bit cheaper...but I want to make it as easy as I can for folks.

Opinions?

Quoted from BurnDizzyBurn:

Option 1.... I’m just wondering how big the box is going to be to get one to the UK

UK shipping is probably going to be prohibitively expensive from me via USPS, but a bunch of these are going to Marco Specialties, and they have much better international shipping options.

#2313 3 years ago

Marco had 25 sets until I bought them all yesterday...more will be coming next week. I am including the decals with the ramp this time, so no need to buy them if you are getting the ramp.

Progress...

Did a test pull of the new Batman ramp today. I still need a length and width of the small flap if anyone could help. I won't be able to offer these until I have that piece of info

Speaking of flippers...my left flipper on Hook has very little hold power ever since I received the game. I replaced the flipper board with a new one, and no dice. In circuit, both coils ohm out the same. I also cleaned the leaf switch on that side to no avail. Any other ideas? The flipper also has an intermittant hum when activated.

Fianlly put the new ramp decals on...this game looks really nice.

Quoted from scootss:

This was helpful for me when I was diagnosing DE flipper issues:

(snippet below)
In case your replacement was a Rottendog...there have been many (most?) bad batches over the years.

This grounding issue sounds very plausible...thank yoh for sharing that, I will definitely pursue this path next. A bad ground could also be the reason for the coil humming at times as well.

Cool. Good luck.
Big fan of your work, btw. Thanks for all that you do for the hobby. Assuming you'll be at pinfest, would be good to stop by and say hi.

Thank you for the kind words, being able to use my skills to help out so many pinheads is what keeps me going!

As for the Hook issue, boy I feel dumb. I swapped wires from coil to coil, checked the grounds and everything pointed to something around the flipper itself. Diode was OK, but I replaced it anyway. I did not think this coil stop was that bad, but that is exactly what the problem was. I reinstalled the original flipper board and that works fine now.
