Welcome to the the Data East club. This is a more generic DE club, not game specific. Share your thoughts about your favorite Data East games. Post questions if you need help with your game, or if you are just looking for parts.

I think many of the DE are just as fun as the Williams System 11 games.
I currently have 5 DE games

The Simpsons. Very fun game.
Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle - A blast to play. It is something different to play.
Jurassic Park (Working on-orignally bought just the cabinet, wiring, and playfield. Now the game boots up. Still hunting for lockdown bar, coin door, Translite.)
Last Action Hero (Folded up waiting to get worked on). Fun game, had one in the past.
Hook (Also another project game with cut playfield wiring. Hope this will be a working game by this summer.)

Playboy 35th
Simpsons
King Kong #009
Batman
Star Wars
Tales from the Crypt
G n R ( with a original prototype translight ).

I've owned many others but these are the staples. I also own a original Richie Rich and Deathball 2000 translight.

Not yet available. The first color ROM just came out for the first Stern game, LOTR. So I think we will be waiting a while on this one.

WWFRR, which I just played 10 minutes ago and remembered it's not that bad, and LW3 which is a good slap-the-ball around kind of game.

#31 9 years ago

Currently have Laser War and Lethal Weapon 3. Would love to add Simpsons and TMNT. Personally, I enjoy working on DE titles.

#32 9 years ago

Restoring a "Ronscore" Simpsons right now, just finished touching up the playfield.

I don't currently own any data east but I have played alot of them and don't agree with the DE haters. There was a lot of really good ones. LAH, Tommy, LW3 come to mind.
they are fun machines.

#42 9 years ago

After playing WWFRR a little while back, I'd love to own one. Game was a ton of fun. A lot of the DE tables I've played have been great.

#43 9 years ago

Honestly I don't think multi-color LEDs work very well for the G.I. in Bullwinkle. The way the plastics are, it's best to use cool white frosteds. I did use blue frosteds in the skill shot and return lanes though, and rainbow faders in the pop bumpers

Also I modded the star posts under the Nell table to avoid them damaging the NOS plastics I obtained for the machine last year on ebay. Attached is a pic of the pink frosted LEDs I put in there (railroad inserts are purple frosteds).

I forgot about JP. That game rocks

#46 9 years ago

Question DE owners/ops. Are these pins notorious for failing coin door high power switches?
Both of my DE pins, LW3 & JP have bad switches. Or should I be looking elsewhere?
Thanks in advance,
Lee

#47 9 years ago

Anyone have an extra DE soundboard?

What is the problem you are having?
I don't have a coin door on my project JP, and don't recall having the flipper power shut off.
I'll double check though.

#49 9 years ago

Isn't the power to the PF coils & flashers cut off by opening the coin door during gameplay?

#50 9 years ago

6 takers are begging me to find more people for this set..any interest? I need 24 more people to make a run.
