Just picked up a LAH and giving it a once over there are some unused connectors in front right corner does anyone know what these are for ?

Probably nothing. Data East used similar harnesses in many games.

You can check the wire colors against the manual.

Serial communication port for the data printer.
Some operating firms wanted hard data for book keeping...
So Data East obliged to the powers that be...

paper money validators.

Those are for printers and ticket dispensers.
