Picked up a Guns n Roses recently, and the DMD didn't work. No images or dots on the display. Rest of the game works.

Figured it would be an easy fix, turns out I'm stumped.

What I've done;
Swapped out the DMD and controller board from a working South Park (switched ROMS)
New DMD ribbon cable
New display ROM
Checked 5v

After looking around some in the backbox, I noticed some tan areas on the MPU, especially around the CN1 connection. Is this board burnt? Possible high voltage surge? Is this causing the DMD issue?

Any help is appreciated! This was the second pin I played as a kid, and would love to get it running again

Checked all voltages and they are correct. The only thing the DMD does is make a "blurr" on the screen when powered off.
