I'm in the process of putting my LAH back together and was installing a new pair of flipper bats when I realized the shaft on the flipper bat appears to be too large in diameter for the flipper plunger&link assembly. Are Williams/Bally flipper bats not compatible with DE games? The ones I'm attempting to use are just generic flipper bats that fit the plunger&links for my Paragon (as I just tried them on it and they fit fine)...

Do I need to get bats specific to DE games?

Get the nut real loose on both sides, then pry the pawls apart using a big ass standard screwdriver.

I second that. I always have to work to make them fit.

You could also buy a set of DE flippers if you want the original look. They should fit without prying the pawls open too.
