You'll need to replace that DMD as it very likely is outgassing after 20 years. They are about $160. When I got my R&B machine last year, the first thing to go was the DMD, and it looked very similar to that (though not as bad). I bought a new one for $160 and it has been perfect ever since as far as the display goes.
