Quoted from fosaisu:Nice hand-drawn art and dots, but DE gameplay is far inferior to Stern SW.
DE has better layout, now with updated code, it's not a one trick pony anymore. Has great toys, great sound.
SW trilogy.... Empty playfield, boring all around to play, snooze fest
EP1.... Even with awesome P2K technology, it's a one shot game. Suffers greatly from diversity in modes and based upon a shitfest of a movie
Stern SW... Empty playfield again, not that exciting to shoot, but rules are better than the SW trilogy version, but still nothing exciting. The comic book art version is a vast improvement over the original art, but still suffers from empty playfield and meh rules.
ESB... Not bad for a Widebody game. All around ok, Arts not bad, layout isn't bad. Rules are meh.
Quoted from ktownhero:You really downplay the Stern Star Wars... When you combine an understanding of the code and multipliers with the smooth layout, it's absolutely a blast to shoot. It's night and day better than every other SW game that came before it lol.
I understand it. It's just not that fun. Much better Stern games out there that knock your socks off, but this one just doesn't. It's kind of like Sterns Aerosmith. It's not a terrible game, it's just ok. But it's no LOTR or Maiden by any means.
