    Quoted from Marc:

No. Because they have shown what they can build, not just with Vacation. Call and try and get support for an Arcade Legends, I have and they have no support for older products. Not many pinball guys can work on surface mount, me included. Where will the support for the boards be on ten years? I can still work on all my WPC stuff.

Yeah, I tried explaining this in another thread, but no one wants to hear it.

I just repaired a WPC-95 board a few hours ago and it took me 20 minutes tops to remove the board from the machine, replace two transistors that fried because the person who had this machine before me didn't know what they were doing under the playfield, then re-install the board.

Months ago I had a small PCB from a Nicktoons Racing game go bad, built by CGC. Can't repair it, can't get a replacement. Cabinet is separating just like the last one I had. Off to auction it goes.

    Quoted from Astropin:

Didn't I here that replacement boards were going to be like $40?

The off the shelf minicomputer (BeagleBone Black, Rasp Pi, Arduino, whatever) acting as CPU/emulator would be $40 or less. But that, like the WPC95 CPU boards, should rarely (if ever, really) go bad.

The board in question is whatever board is acting as the power driver board. Converting power, sending 50V to the coils, etc. That board will be nowhere near $40.
