That looks like one clean machine. Great job. That original playfield was in serious need of help.
I do have one critical suggestion. Unless it is the picture playing tricks, it seems that a new or better translite would really help.

As for the inserts, I'm not sure what you are talking about. I didn't remove any.
That's understandable, and a translite is an easy enough item to keep and eye out for and upgrade later if you find a nice one cheap.
I think that poster thought the clear inserts that show the subway for the Spook House and Boomerang were pulled out when they are really just new and clear. To be quite honest, I figured those window inserts were always cloudy looking (even back in 88 when Cyclones were factory fresh). I had a Cyclone in very nice condition. The windows were cloudy on mine, but it never bothered me because I figured that is just the way they were.
Again...looks great. I sometimes miss my Cyclone and I can almost boil all of that down to the callouts and music. I really love them.
