Hi everybody!
I purchased a cyclone about a year ago and have been slowly working on it and making it better.
I’m not trying to make it a purist’s Cyclone. I’m just having fun with it and trying to learn as much as I can along the way.
My latest undertaking is to restore this abomination of a coin door.
I’ll post some pictures....
The plan is to take a ton of pictures, remove the door, disassemble the door while taking more pictures.
Wash and clean all the parts, strip the paint, clean then paint, speckle, (topcoat ?), reassemble, reinstall and hopefully have it all work.

First thing I need to figure it is what exactly I need to fix the light for the of the coin return buttons.
Looks like the old one heated up a bit, probably shorted, and the fix was to cut it off and tape the wires.
Looks like I can order a 1 1/8’ two terminal bayonet socket and solder the wires one on each terminal.
Clean up the melted part with a Dremel and screw the socket on.
Sound rite? I’ve attached a picture of the socket I think I need.
If I happen to be going down the wrong path, please feel free to set me rite.
All constructive advice is appreciated.

I’m thinking of installing clear coin returns with color changing led bulbs. I can always swap the bulbs out with orange for the classic look.

And where do you get “semi flat” spray paint?

Ok so here I go.

I get semi-flat spray paint at the hardware store (Ace, Lowe's, Home Depot, etc).

Quoted from ToucanF16:

Here’s a great restoration video.

Thanks for posting that.
I watched it along with a few others.
I’m going to play a game or two , shut it down and start taking off the door.

My biggest concern at the moment is repairing / replacing the light socket that was cut off . Not sure about the correct socket to order .

This is a pleasant surprise .
Looks like the wires weren’t cut after all .
