Can someone post a closeup picture of the wiring for the Boom Balloon pop bumper on CV? I have a white/yellow wire that came off of where it was soldered and I don't know where it goes. Not only is the pop bumper not working but I'm sure the exposed wire is what caused the game to restart in the middle of a game. I now get multiple ground short errors, and some switches don't register in Switch Edges test.

Anyone?

According to the manual, the White/Yellow is th switch to activate the pop bumper. Should be soldered with another White/Yellow wire onto the leaf switch.

Edit - I strongly recommend grabbing a manual, or a PDF of one.

This should help.

Thank you for the picture, Mac; and for the description Coyote. I have the manual so this should get me squared away. I'm more of a visual person so the picture helps me to understand the manual.

Some more...with a little more detail.

The yellow-gray cabe is the purple-yellow one in my machine (just added to gain length). It's good to have longer cables for wiring the BB, it get's a lot of heavy vibration down there.

The solid yellow ones are for the bulb in the Balloon, they are red in bznhvx picture.

yes

For some reason mine isn't like that,
Its the same insert, right holder etc it just won't sit up with the bulb in it,
Or even an LED. So I turn it to the side,
Are there any washers or spacers I should be using? under the graphic plastic cover?

Yes, you need to add a small rubber ring (according to the manual it's the same ones used to reduce vibration when attaching the boards in the trough) used like a washer between the bumper base and the cover. I tried the trough-rubber, but a sliced in half small O-ring (like the one used on the pointy small post at the front of the BB) works best for me. The meaning of this "rubber washer" is to be able to adjust the cover plastic to be 100 flush with the playfield by using the cover screws of the Boom Balloon.

Part Nr. 57 in this picture:

Same here - but then it's not high enough to hold the bulb...

It also produces a little gap between the base and the cover making it easy for heat to escape.

The part referenced in the manual is this one:

Seems strange us the only ones addressing this issue almost 20 years later,

I want the LED to point straight up not tilted to the side

OI have the grommet laying around.
I'll mess with the later and see
