Quoted from Electrocute:Just cancelled Directv tonight, felt good!
It does feel good, doesn't it? We've been DirectTV free for about a year and a half now and I would NEVER go back. But don't celebrate yet. You still have a couple of weeks worth of upcoming calls to try to get you back. When that is done, you'll probably get a magical new bill...even though they told you that you wouldn't be billed anymore and that you didn't need to return any of the equipment because it is old. Then after your 4th or 5th call to them as to why, when they have told you everything from "we'll refund that charge" to "I don't understand why you were charged", maybe you will get lucky enough to talk to someone who has a clue and tells you that DirectTV bills 1 month behind so you still owe them...even though they told you you didn't at cancellation. And hopefully you don't bundle DirectTV with something like CenturyLink like we did...makes it all the more fun to get answers with the back and forth finger pointing and was especially awesome since CenturyLink bills 1 month in advance while DirectTV was the exact opposite at 1 month behind. So convenient to have charges like that blended together on the same bill.
