Quoted from OLDPINGUY:Nice work!
Its hard to be exact as what people might spend for a one of a kind.
If toppers in the market are $100-$500, it helps, and I believe the sweet spot is $200-$300.
Desires are usually for controlled/interactive lighting as well.
But your time is valuable, and its not to say that a really amazing unique topper, might bring much much more,
but exposure, and a little luck, goes a long way.
I hope youll be able to share a few finished pieces, and share your vision and skills, and you might be surprised
at how busy you might get!
Best wishes.
Thanks. I have plenty of my own projects to keep me busy but thought this might be a nice way to pivot toward pinball a bit. I'm hopefully someone has a need that meets my interest and can build up a pinball specific portfolio in the process.
As far as prices, it really couldn't be comparable to manufactured or mod toppers, only because the return comes from producing multiples. Even small runs would be a problem. That large creature topper probably has more than that in materials to design, not counting time or production costs. That's likely why there's not much market for it.
That said, I thought there might be one or two people with a passion without a path, and if it aligns with mine, we might make a go of it. I mostly make things I'm interested in and that's a bit narrowing, so thought I might see if its as much fun when its not entirely mine.
Even if there are no takers, there's always my own home brew machine, so I can highlight some of my own work there when that's further along.
Thanks again.
