I know there has been posts about making your own reproduction plastics but I had a thought this morning while playing my Joker Poker. The glass is a thing of beauty but the plastics seem to be wasted potential. I myself am an artist so I thought, yeah I could totally make sexy plastics for this game that match the art style of the table. I have the ability to draw that but not the capacity to cut poly-carbonate and actually make the plastics. Is there someone here who can do that or know of someone who would? Thanks.

The easiest way would be to draw the outline of the plastics in vector format and save them as a dxf or svg file. You can then have them laser cut at a local shop or from a website like https://ponoko.com. Trace the outline of the old plastic, scan that in and use it as a guide to redraw the outline.

Cool. Didn't know places like that existed. Ill reach out to them. Thanks for the lead.

Be interesting to see what you come up with.

So today I changed out all my drop targets in Joker Poker and it inspired me to start work on these custom plastics. Here is what I'm thinking for what I call the Queen Plastic. Let me know what you guys think or if you have any ideas. Thanks.

Is there any chance you could do an Elvira and the party monsters plastic?
I am looking for the "Elviras party punch, " with her in a cauldron (pic below for reference).

Yeah that might be something I could help you with. I'm only in the stage of designing right now. I still have to get a hold of someone who can actually make the plastics and cut them to size.

So not only did I find a place to have these done but They turned out better than I ever would’ve expected. major props to classicplayfields.com. Not only did I get several prints for myself but soon they will be available to all of you. As an artist it’s always nice to get recognition and it’s important to see your vision come to life. They’ve done both of those things for me.

Wow - those Joker Poker plastics look fantastic! Great job drawing them! So CPR is selling them?

#15 3 years ago

You need to be put in charge of the new CPR conversion kits, this artwork style is exactly what they need

Thanks. ^_^

Yes I do believe they will be selling them shortly. The ones I have are the test ones so we're still working out placement. ^_^

I dunno about that. ^_^ But it is very thrilling to make something for a table you love very much. It's too bad Xenons plastics are already perfect.

That look good.

Are you a reincarnation of some pin artist from the past? You can draw those big boobs as good as any of those earlier guys

Yeah, biggest congrats on your ability to adapt the specific art style of the game and make it something special. That is the real magic sauce that most artists, even the technically talented ones, are missing. Hope to see additional work from you in the future.

These are incredible!

I thought these were pretty clever - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1354607

Lol no. But I do love that old art style. The art style I use in my regular work is quite different. I would share it here but...It's not family friendly. Thanks for your compliments though. BTW Memory Lane is on my wishlist. I almost had one this year but the deal was a little shady and I would have had to drive 5 1/2 hours one way just to pick it up.

Thank you. I'm sure you will. I have a couple of jobs I'm doing for some other pinsiders so hopefully they will share it when the job is done. ^_^

Those are pretty awesome. I love the cutout patterns in the middle of the plastics. It's a neat effect.

Why local operator friend sold most of his inventory a couple of years ago but he did keep a Memory Lane on the floor (laundry mat). I stopped and played it a couple of times and was not too impressed as it felt like a drain monster to me.

Yesterday, my operator friend and I met at his location do to some business. And he taught me how to play Memory Lane. It is quite a complex rule set; I was impressed. After that lesson, ML is still not one I would chase, but if one came up for sale locally for a reasonable price, I would give it a whirl.

I'm a sucker for solid state pins with chimes. ^_^ I love the theme too...I've never actually got to play one so I don't know if I'd like it or not.
