Some of the details (i.e. black lines on the planks) look like they are not air brushed but painted - maybe with a paint marker pen?
There is a picture showing how the shading is achieved. Light spray at the border of the mask.
The amount of depth this whole thing brings to the playfield is indeed a complete game changer.
Is the inversion of the blue rubber at the left entrance of the right yellow ramp intentional? With the metal bracket facing toward the front.
Might be too late now but it would have been great to scan the playfield and potentially create an overlay.
