Might be too late now but it would have been great to scan the playfield and potentially create an overlay.

Oh- a scan would have been amazing!
This is beyond incredible- all the empty space that follows is my being speechless...
Ge had er een patent moeten opnemen , nu heeft een Frans kunstenaar u gecopieerd

Looks like Niro gives full credit to the original idea.
It must be a French thing... brings back memories, but I see its the same with pinball artists..a bit dissspointing if you work on a one-off for yourself.
I really got pissed off a few years back when my Racing Driver Helmets got reproduced by other "artists" , for other drivers. Cheap knock offs, nothing new added for me to steal back..
It stopped me from sharing Hi-res images online, i got fed up being the one to invent, to protect the clients thought out personal designs from lazy rip offs .
Funny how even before mine is done completely and shown, I stand a chance of being called a Copy if I take this to a show in france ..
And about giving credits..Im over that. The "artist" could 've first asked. Common courtesy in my book.
Anyway, moving on, new project ahead. This time round I will keep it a little closer to my chest. For obvious reasons .
And for the full disclosure, so my friend can completely rip it.. and re-sell it too probably
I dont like the right row of lights next to the shooter. Too bright in your face.
A quick fix before playing!
what a incredible job you have done, maybe Planetary could pay you a royalty and do a MBr LE with your playfield version.
simply beautiful

It would be nice if planetary considered that option. That would make me proud.
Although I think as a profit company they are smart enough to bypass that and create something "similar", but not exactly the same. Lets see.
I can only rely on my company copyright on image/art . And thats always a tightrope to walk anyway and hard to enforce
The copy is missing all the shadows that lifts the forground artwork which really makes the plank artwork work. Also colours / plank texture looks different. I MUCH prefer the original!
There is a saying: imitation is the sincerest form of flattery ....
However, I understand how you feel. Your version looks however much much much better as this ‘copy’.
Look forward to seeing it in real life one time soon. It’s stunning to say the least

There's a reason to want a remake over original. That would be awesome!
This is my all-time favorite game. It's hard to improve on perfection, and yet... here we are. Incredible work, man!

Yeah, that wooden plank floor background just works with the theme and looks beautiful.
I follow this project from the start, and what I just can say is :
"c'est vraiment du très bon boulot"

It's funny because some people told me about MB playfield at an exhibition, and I reminded them where and who had this original idea. In another domain, if we protect some of our electronic achievements, it is to avoid inspiring bad ideas to some
Beautiful. Personal passion at it's finest.
I thought I wanted a MB, but now I think I only want one like you have done. It's funny to think how awesome something can be, and then see a new vision of it and realize how much further it can be taken.
I'd be interested in your total hours on this project when you're "done."
Had the opportunity to play this MB today. What a beautiful sight it is and plays very smooth. Unfortunately the photo conditions were not so great but here you go

said it before but would love to hear that the Op approved for the MBr LE to have this type of playfield

If I was the OP I would definitely say ....... NO!!! The whole point of putting hundreds of hours work into this is to have something special.
Do that and it’s just run of the mill and everyone and the brother has one.

OR if the Op was paid a fee for every playfield made with his design, then he is rewarded for his originality and efforts. Imagine $10 for every LE made with 1000 LE's sold he could earn $10k = a game in the game room

Being the op here I agree with this. It was a one-off, personal project. Any effort to make it this way as a production will fall short there’s so many changes made beyond the pf that would never make it to an LE if that was to be made .
Plus.. some planks.. they dont need me for that at cgc )
Thanks rensh for posting the pics.

To try to recreate this is just disrespectful of all of the work that was done by the Op. Projects like this inspire the most creative amongst us to stretch the boundaries of current machines. The Mona Lisa is the Mona Lisa because it's a one-of-a-kind.
Thanks Koos,
I had the parts powder coated black first for adhesion, before paint.
Otherwise it will damage much easier

Ah ok so you wouldn't recommend doing a primer + paint + clear on the "raw" material then? That would save some money from a powder coat job.
If you're going to need a powder coat base anyway, you'd be better be off doing it in the right color at the same time?
At 7,50 euro per part base black powdercoat I’m not buying primer..
Plus the colour pearl I mix myself, and after that rubberised it with special clear .
I dont go for off the shelf stuff when I do something special!

I thought that powder coating was more expensive by the way.
Any new projects on the horizon already? Or are you cured from restoring pins for a while now?

Oh Yeah, big project coming up ,really soon, mid may it is ready for reveal !
Its based on a lot of yellow, black, violence and tons of blood ...

mmmmm, wouldn't be KB, very cool if it is
Quoted from Pinstein:I sold my MB recently. If the remakes looked like this I would buy one again. With all the great pins coming out re-releasing a stock MB just isn't going to cut it.
I agree. If CGC had an LE with his awesome planked design and the CD made into a vinyl record, I would have a very hard time turning it down.

have said this for a while - would be incredible
