We had a great weekend at CAX meeting a lot of folks who are eager to build their own machines. I look forward to when going to the pinball shows is as much about seeing what is new/custom in pinball as it is to play all the classics!

Pinball Expo in Chicago is a great opportunity for checking out custom games. Last year we sponsored an exhibit with 10 custom games and their designers, and this year we're doing it again. A few of the favorites are back from last year, and a few new machines are joining the lineup.

Each machine is controlled with a P-ROC, which let's you re-theme existing games or control a fully custom machine. Many of them also use our modular driver board system.

This year we'll also be showing off a pre-production ready P3 with Lexy Lightspeed - Galaxy Girl, and we plan to have demo units set up to show off specific elements of the re-engineered pinball platform that comprises the P3.

If you're interested in building a custom game, send me a PM, and we can talk through your options.

I'm doing Spaceballs completely custom. It's going to take a year or two to complete though, so not a lot of progress updates flowing.

I've been working on a controller design that I'm going to give away for free.

You beat me to it Great theme choice. USE THE SCHWARTZ!

Here's mine from a couple of years ago: http://flashredo.weebly.com/ Still have it, don't think I could sell it after all the work.

Don't let me stop you from making your own, there's always room for more Spaceballs!

Alternatively, if you want to help out with mine, I'm all for it!

Gerry's presence at Expo last year was really cool. I look forward to seeing the progress on the video pinball game since I played it in Texas.

We have some fun plans for Expo this year. Not only games controlled by our hardware, but something I don't believe has ever been done at a pinball event before... Details on that in time!

Aaron, do you know when the FAST Pinball controller is going to be available for purchase?

I missed this post, my bad. The hardware will be available as soon as we can get it wrapped. We have a few variations of hardware coming together at the same time and have been factoring in some last minute revisions to provide maximum throughput (adding another processor) and some connector changes based on user feedback (primarily RGB LED connectors, battery support, etc).

I will be adding more details to our website in the coming days as we get the initial hardware pricing dialed in, so that people can begin to determine if the hardware fits their budget and justify the wait.

I will say that all the testing on what we do have has been going very well. We are going to be using some of the hardware that we have in hand as early adopter kits for some of our patient friends who have been eagerly waiting to get those flippers flipping!

https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/fast-portable-pinball

The portable pinball game was updated to all the latest revision hardware and was on hand to play with at CAX. We had the FAST I/O 1616 board in action as well as the FAST Controller running the RGB LEDs. Very cool to see all the hardwork coming to life!

We also had a Funhouse running on our FAST WPC Controller w/ PinMAME running the original ROMs. Little work to do dialing that in, but wow, what a milestone that was!

A friend is 3/4 through making a Led Zep pin out of a Bally Evel K. We are working making the chime unit play Zep tunes. the playfield art is the big hang up right now. Cab and backglass are done . I think pics are on What do you want in your Led Zep pinball thread . I also know a guy who did a Laura Croft Tome Raider out of a Bally Bobby Ore i think.

Come to Expo in Chicago in October to see a fantastic lineup of custom machines, all based on the P-ROC control system.

Btw any videos on the Sonic and Starfox pinball machine

Btw any videos on the Sonic and Starfox pinball machine

The Sonic game wasn't really complete at the show. It ran for a little bit, but I don't know if anybody got video of it. The starfox game was in a different part of the hall (rather than in the P-ROC booth where I was for the whole show) so I'm not sure if it was on/running or not.

The Starfox was in our booth, but it wasn't running. We drove out to Skit-B's shop from Chicago to lend a hand getting ready for the show and got the Starfox fired up, but the code wasn't ready to go. Fortunately, we had the portable pin with us to use in demos. Maybe it will make it this next year!

Hopefully IPDB will recognise P-Roc and home Re-themed machines because wouldn't it be cool to have something like this recognised by the pinball community, because stuff like this is currently frowned upon by most of the community

I met the guy running IPDB at the Chicago Expo last year and suggested the creation of a Customs/Rethemes category. He seemed open to it. But it takes work, of course. I think it would be a great addition to the site.

Will your board work on a System 11 machine? Do I have to rewire my playfield? I'd like to keep the machine playable both in it's original state and the new modified version. Thanks for your time.

Need a good working flashgordon in Pacific NW.
I have ideas for a retheme and decided to use this game.
Always fun but brutal. Excellent game from this era IMO.

Betelgeuse had a good write up on how he created his GhostBusters pin, but I can't seem to find it on-line anymore.

Betelgeuse do you still have your write up somewhere on-line?
