Most of these have minimal recent pricing data. It used to be that only a handful of EMs would ever fetch more than $2k let alone $4k but this last decade has seen lots of new blood (and money) into the hobby with a strong focus on the extremely rare titles...

A pristine gottlieb TKO sold locally here right before the pandemic for $10,000, same guy sold a perfect Gemini for $6,000 right about that time.
I bought a nos solar city play field from him and saw two perfect nos TKO play fields, got to hold one, was amazing. As far as I know, not for sale.
    They are out there

We just got 5 Challengers, 2 NOS playfields, 3 backglasses so we are going to get 3 of them going the other two will be parts machines / cabinets. One will probably go in arcade but the other two we will probably sell, hopefully to arcades or pinball shows so many people can get a chance to play these rare titles.

So many good EM's out there hard to pick what 5 we want even thou we have a great collection of them and access to so may that have been mentioned.

    1. Quick Draw
    2. Hang Glider
    3. Hot Tip
    4. Target Alpha
    5. Any Zaccaria EM (some really cool ones)

Any of Evel Knievel, Sinbad, Solar Ride, Mata Hari, Charles Angels, Joker Poker

Such a great thread love all my EM's.

Gemini gameplay is just as good if not better than those titles. It is one of those rare games that is a great player!!!

    Quoted from BRONX:

pinhead52 I'm not sure what the idiotic Canadian customs officers will treat a used pinball game in duties, and red tape costs. Never done it before. Another factor is the ridiculous exchange rate between Cdn and USA Buckaroos. It's going to be expensive.
Ok back to the rarity of Gemini, Space walk, tko, etc.... And how many have survived vs new dog food What is more important when it comes to a possible collectable... The supply or demand??? I noticed in the pinball world as soon as something is rare the price hits the moon. For ex. This Gemini(never seen or played) is fetching $7500usd+++ only 300 made. Centigrade 37 in which is a proven winner and supper dupper fun fetches $2500usd+++ in amazing shape but 1600 made, same goes with Jacks Open and ElDorado but with almost 3000 made. If El Dorado, jacks open or centigrade 37 were only produced in limited quantities of 125, 217 or 300 like tko, space walk or Gemini would they be fetching $75,000 usd+++ in prestige shape??? For me it's about the game play, rule set and space. I'm sure out there in the world sits a 1985 Chevrolet Chevette garage kept, no mileage, factory new, in show room condition but does that mean it will fetch $2mil +++ ??? I don't think so. I think the rarity of a pinball game shouldn't be a main factor in my opinion. Unless Gemini, tko or spacewalk are incredible plays like centigrade 37, jacks open or Atlantis .
I hope this white rose pinball show in a few weeks has a good e.m turnout. Never been to a pinball show before. Like to see new titles

"TKO" would be an instant flip for me. I've seen it, played it,....meh!

    #111 5 months ago

I never seen a Gemini, tko, challenger, skywalk.

I seen and played a bluenote, cool game. Im curious on pricing some of these rare e.m's since very little data on resale.

Besides what is considered rare in 2022 for games made before 1977?

Centigrade 37 production was around 1600, how many are left? Great player! I'm sure arcade vendors got there money's worth, played them to death from location to location. Then scraped them when the playfield, backglass and cabinets were done!!!! Some of these "rare" e.m titles from 1978/1979 are really rare but they were introduced in the S.S rollout era. I can see the s.s title being played more then there e.m counterparts therefore alot of the e.m variations not being heavily used up and vendors selling them to a nice heated, clean forever homes where most are still being hoarded today like treasure....

Gemini is an exception, it has no s.s variant
Tko as well, but alot of thumbs down review on tko.. Space Walks s.s variant was countdown.
Mata Hari, 3rd encounter, Cleopatra, charlies angles, night rider, etc.all had s.s variant

Never played it but that playfield layout looks boring as hell.

Same opinion when I looked at a playfield photo.

Ok, ok I’ll come to TKO’s rescue here. Just had my friends over to the house this past weekend. All of them and their significant others are not in the hobby and new to the EM machines. Without any input from me the most played game and both guy’s and girl’s favorite was TKO. My high score of the night on it was 366,850. I’m a fan and think it’s a good player and fantastic art/theme.

Line up was 10 wedgeheads: TKO, C37, Jacks Open, Hit the Deck, Blue Note, Buccaneer, Big Hit, Volley, Golden Arrow and Strange World.

It’s definitely a nice looking game and I remember thinking that Top Card would be boring with a symmetric playfield, only 2 star rollovers at the top and nothing to shoot for but 13 standup targets but after I bought one, I found out how fun it is to play, especially with the extra set of slingshots.

I’ve heard Pat Hand is also fun to play but you’d never guess that looking at that barren playfield. To each his own for sure.

"Top Card" is a tremendously fun player. The ball is always in motion and changing directions.
There are five rollover stars, I believe, including the center one which lights for "special". That game has an awesome knocker too. Funny how certain games have a distinctive knocker sound. This is one of the best!

It is really fun and besides the knocker, it has the best Gottlieb chimes and that’s saying something. All my other Gottlieb games sound great but none as sweet as the Top Card.

Im happy with the EMs that I own but I wouldn’t be mad if a cherry Rock Star/Blue Note or a nice Bally Cosmos were to show up in my game room

    #121 5 months ago

    No order-
    Wms King Pin
    Friendship 7
    Rocket 3
    FreeFall/SkyJump

I'm going to look at Gottlieb King pin this Friday! Game looks clean. What does a decent King pin go for at Allentown fest, white rose or any other large shows in the USA?
