I have 3 EM machines that all are having their own issues. Here's what's going on.

1) Bally Wizard - no lights in quite a few places...'W' section, Flags 1-4, Special, Extra Ball.

2) Capt. Fantastic - weak right lower flipper and endless game

3) C.C. Casino - sticky/slow score reels, delay switching back from P2 to P1 in a 2-player game. The turn starts initially scoring for P2.

The Wizard is my priority, as I find it to be the best game of the three. I tried looking in the manual but wasn't sure where to start.

So the left flipper on my Wizard became stuck in the 'up' position.

I played with it a little, and the plunger is getting stuck in the solenoid coil.

I took a peek in the coil and it looks like there was some melting, like the sleeve melted.

How should I proceed? Toss in a new sleeve or replace the coil?

Quoted from Dr_of_Style:

Wow...its cold in here... did you get it going? looks like a typical burnt sleeve, with a mushroomed coil stop. if coil is good, just get a rebuild kit from pbr, and replace the bad parts...both flips

mushroomed coil stop?

The sleeve is just breaking off in the coil when I try and remove it so I think I'm going to have to go the route of a new coil and sleeve.

Update. I'm finally home and have the parts on hand to try and do this.

I desoldered the old coil and went to put the new one on but I'm not sure how I need to mount this thing. The older one has a bolt on the butt end that you can throw a nut over to keep it tightly held.

The newer (replacement) coil has no such bolt, or any visible way (that I can see) to attach this bracket and keep it in place.

I've attached a pic of the 3 parts in question. The coil basically hangs upside down (as I'm sure you guys realize), so the braket seems absolutely necessary. Am I missing a part? I ordered the coils from macro, the link is in a previous comment in this thread.
