Anyone care to chime in on the best non WPC or Stern title out there

Pinball Magic is 1990's Capcom.
Haunted House is the best 80's Gottlieb, probably best all time Gottlieb too (3 playfields, 8 flippers!). I've had mine for a long time but it might be time to swap it out this summer for another game.
Stargate could be good but it depends on your collection as for how well it would fit with other games, & I wouldn't consider it as an only pin.
There are a ton of decent Gottlieb's that fly under the radar. Genesis comes to mind. None really blow you away, but that is why they are under the radar.

Lights, Camera, Action.
Bought one NIB, sold it a couple of years later and regretted it ever since
Eldorado, City of Gold.
Wish that some of the other EM Gottlieb playfields like Hot Shot were remade like this.
Gottlieb Overall: Hollywood Heat and Gold Wings are at the top of my list. Easily.
Specifically, Gottlieb System 3: Gladiators. I shit you not. I discovered this game about a month ago and was blown away that no one EVER mentions this game when discussing System 3's. Cool He-Man/Heavy Metal Magazine inspired theme, great shots, cool layout...only con is that it is really easy to start Wizard mode (modes are automatically lit and ready to start for you, just plow through them). With a few design tweaks, this game could be better than Stargate...it could actually be on par with Stargate as it is IMO.
Edit:

I wasn't even thinking about EM's. Joker Poker is incredible. Such great EM rules/layout.
It will come down to your preference.
I really enjoy my Pinball Magic and miss my Stargate (best Gottlieb, I think)
Black Hole!!!, and it was way ahead of it's time when released. You could not pass by a Black Hole back then without dropping 2 quarters in it,That's how attractive this game was also it was the highest earning pin Ever!!
Considering half of our collection is Gottlieb...
Waterworld: is tons of fun. Sinking the ship has yet to get boring.
Stargate: has so much going for it.
Black Hole: is difficult, but keeps you coming back to get that multiball.
Hot Shots: is an amazing simple game, but getting those 15 drops down is one hell of a task. That keeps me coming back. Only done it twice on one ball.
Target Alpha: is classic and the most useless upper left flipper in probably all of pinball :p
Cactus Jacks: is light-hearted and good fun German dancing cowboy cacti. Not sure what more you're looking for.
I would love to play more of Gottliebs system 3 since they are BULLETPROOF.
Some of these pins are underrated and have some seriously awesome designs. Like the ball saver CLAW that comes out of the playfield on Freddy. The beating thumping heart in 1812. Stern should look at some gotliebs designs for creativity.
I only have a single Gotlieb and it's Cleopatra but let me tell you, that b!tch is a beast.
Super simple ruleset but OMG it's a bear to score high.
Perhaps I just stink (which I do) but those drop targets up the middle cause major drains ALL the time.
I really love it though and has been getting more plan than Gorgar recently.

Pinball Pool is close to being a remake of Hot Shot/Big Shot.
Best Gottlieb is Black Hole.

Stargate
Cactus Jack
Teed Off
Vegas
Cue Ball Wizard
Cleopatra

All of these Gottliebs are fun, would be hard to pick just one.
Had a Pinball Magic (Capcom) and it's a beautiful game, very innovative and fun, linear in play.
