CSI: Crime Scene Investigation
Stern, 2008Hi,
I have installed the shaker components. I need to connect the PCB to the backbox and to the 12v (red wire with one pin connector on the pic).
A video of the installation on a Metallica shows a spare female connector with 12v at the front left, which you plug the shaker wire into.
I do not find one on the CSI. How can I get this 12v ?
Any idea is welcome

Interesting. I've never seen one like that. The only shakers I have seen are two wire. Some are aftermarket with kits to adapt them to various games. Can you provide more detail? I assume if it has one wire it expects the chassis to be grounded somewhere, but these are wood boxes.

Yes it is. According to the vendor, the option in the menu and the manual.

A 2 wires cable goes from the shaker to the board that’s right. But from the PCB, I see no connection to the ground. The outgoing wires are: a red one for the 12v, a brown one to the driver for commanding the start and stop. that must certainly be the ground, now I think about it. It is grounded like a transistor.

I think the grounding is managed by the driver in the backbox, like a transistor. I see no other way of doing it.

Yes, but you said only one wire. You need a +12VDC wire for supply voltage, and another wire connection for the ground, that's what had me confused by your statement.

The 12V is supplied via a small board which is not on his picture. The single wire is grounding this 12V via the shaker. This completes the circle
