Impressive collection, wow, congratz!
I don't feel bad at all about my purchase, I knew this was a gamble and you never know it picks up one day.
Unfortunately I don't have the funds to make a lot of these gambles
I'll keep following NFT...

Thanks, although most of the NFTs in that wallet haven’t done all that well. I keep the CryptoPunks in another cold wallet for security. If you’re itching to get into another NFT that’s likely to do very well, look into the Sneaky Vampires NFT project that dropped today. They don’t reveal until tomorrow and floor price is around 1 ETH right now. The artist is the guy that did Bored Apes art if that says anything.

Basically throwing money that could by a pinball machine at an online gif. Gambling at its best! The detail in those aren't as much as in the Apes, so I just don't know what to think of it.

Too high for me now

But if you got in on the mint those were 0.08
You could pay for a stern LE in one day from mint to list.

Right... seems the best risk/reward is at mint price for most NFTs. After that risk escalates quickly.

So this just sold for 35 ETH !?!

Quoted from darkryder:

Those Ragdollz and Psycho Teddy Bear projects also look intriguing, but everyone has their own tastes with NFTs.

Psycho Teddys were minted and released over the weekend. Kinda interesting situation where they generated so much hype they had 52k Discord members, 10k NFTs, 2k presale apparently sold out in 5 minutes, then at public sale they didn't even sell 3k more which was a sign this may have been a scam. Mods were kicked from their Discord, which was fully taken offline after the same. It all appeared to be evidence the whole thing was a scam but then later in the day after reputations were drug through the mud someone was able to hack back into the Discord to make it available, the project owners then capped minting under 5k (the new cap), and did the reveal.

So at this point everyone is fully confused whether or not it is legit. Further proof that the NFT world truly is the wild west.

Maybe we should start a separate NFT thread/topic?

Not saying we should...just asking.

I'd had that thought, but I wasn't going to be the one to bring it up, since clearly I'm biased.

Honestly, I think it's fine on here. It's not like it's completely drowning out crypto talk.....there's just not much going on in crypto right now to talk about, really. I guess we could talk about Shiba Floki, or Baby Floki Inu, or BabyFloki, or Floki Inu...... *facepalm*

Idk it’s an actual use case for crypto.

Nobody is talking about what any of these do other than number goes up.

NFTs and Gaming are the primary two current use cases for crypto.

We can equate pinball collecting with NFT's... if it is rare, or has some historical significance, prices tend to rise, sometimes regardless of aesthetics.

Even the wife asked me about NFTs last night after finding out that Ryan Bliss (Digital Blasphemy artist, sells desktop backgrounds. She's got a lifetime subscription to his stuff.) is selling NFTs of the same shit he's had up for sale for years. You get no rights, just the original resolution render. She is just as confused as I am to why people are spending thousands of dollars on an easily replicated file with no rights and no guarantee it won't be re-sold or re-issued again.

See my discussion with durzel on the previous page.

Yes you can replicate it, just like you can commission someone to copy the Mona Lisa. Does that make your copy worth money because it looks the same? Can it be issued again, yes, but yours will always be the first one which is always worth more than later productions.

Sounds like Ryan is selling garbage.
Just cause one actor is bad doesn’t mean the whole field is bad as well. Deeproot doesn’t mean all pinball companies are bad.

GApes come with full commercial rights on top of profit sharing from online casino. 95% of the NFT will become useless and worthless. But as the field matures and utilities get added that number will decrease.

Yes. And I did explain the other stuff to her as well. He's doing exactly what I said people SHOULDN'T do. If I sell any of my art, I plan to attach the rights to it (mostly in the hopes it will bring more money, as I'm too lazy to commercialize anything)

Just that the government should put limits on gas and fees.
And that because cryptos are too volatile it needs price regulation.

Cryptodads have been marching up…the activity is pretty unbelievable. .7 floor now

#3574 3 days ago

Good news for spyder? What's the breakeven on your NFT, Spyderturbo007?

The government seems to think that the answer to volatility is regulation. Plenty of normal people can make money with volatility. And most would know to park those funds someplace safer when they need the funds for retirement. How about instead we regulate public servants from serving on advisory boards and dumping stocks before announcements?

Yes…I don’t think any serving member of congress should be allowed to own stocks. Too heavy of a conflict of interest.

Freakin' morons. I'm always impressed by the level of stupidity inherent in our government. Tell that to my 401k back in 2008/2009.

No shit. I haven't looked to be honest. In no time at all pninja005 and I will be retired.

I'd have to look at the fees that I paid, but 0.594 ETH. I think that might include the fees for the actual purchase. I'd also have to factor in the 7.5% that Open Sea takes along with the $150ish they charge to sell the first time.

I'm probably pretty close to even at this point. Maybe I'll wake up one day next week and the floor will be something nuts like 5 ETH.

150 doesn’t sound right

Usually for that transaction I’ve paid like 15-20. Either you misread or you hit it at the worst timing.

Are you referring to the "account initialization" fee? I could have swore it said something like $140. I didn't pay it yet, so I could have been wrong.

#3579 3 days ago

Yeah

I’ve setup a bunch of those and have never paid over 20

You can always check gas fees before using Eth.

Thanks. I'll try and check it tonight when I get home.

Do you know when we get our Ghost things? Mine just said it was a presale spot, but I did get one.

Wait, why are we suddenly being moderated in here for discussing “politics”. Is that a joke? Go over to the Coronavirus thread and it’s nothing but politics. Mandate this, executive order that, government lockdowns, etc.

We make one post about a senator making comments about crypto and stuff starts getting deleted and moderated?

I don’t have a problem with moderation when it’s done with consistency.

Just stumbled on the thread - fun reading. I create NFTs, relatively recently took the plunge, so far modest but tangible gains. I may never be cryptopunks, but it's fun to grow.

I want to invest in crypto apeshitdads. Where can I blow $2000 on a shitty cartoon picture?

The $2,000 I blew on my shitty cartoon picture is now worth $3,000 4 days after purchase. You can be sarcastic all you want, but I'll do that all day long.

Are you selling it or hanging on to it? Is there a window where you need to sell before the value crashes or does it keep growing with NFTs right now?

I'm sitting on it for now. No clue how this stuff works. When it was worth $400 10 minutes after purchase, I kind of wrote it off in my head. I told my friends the story over a few beers and a cigar that night. Everyone had a good laugh, a few of them told me I'm insane and I pretty much made peace with throwing $2k in the toilet for a good story.

Once you've made peace with your losses, it's much easier to let things run if they go back up.

EDIT -> Looks like the floor is up to 0.96ETH. So I'm up 0.36ETH or $1,275 at the current ETH price (not including gas).

Sure, so initially I did some thunderstorms, 2D, but now I'm creating an ongoing series of Steampunk ghosts, under Eleanor's Spiritualist Society. The ghosts are on Opensea, their accessories are on HEN, two different price points for different markets. The thunderstorms are also on HEN - the first one sold out in under 2 hours, crazy. Just started the new ghost series, but I have designs to do quite a few - it involves the entire 3D pipeline, so it's a bit of work for me, but I don't believe in creating anything less then beautiful. Maybe I should do some pinball related themes at some point....
