Maybe I shouldn’t have ordered one looking at the map. There is one in my neighborhood so I’ll be in the same hexagon. I’m assuming that’s not a good thing?

So, I just sold all of my Litecoin (that I've held since 2017) and purchased MATIC.

#3353 2 years ago

Been in MATIC for a while, up 300% so far, hoping it keeps cranking.

I also took a small position in AGIX yesterday, also keeping an eye on CHZ.

Interesting. Any reason? I have a little MATIC I bought at $0.61

I have to ask because you typically aren’t trading.

Ive been meaning to buy agix all bull run, but never got to it. Great company though, so I’m happy to see someone else took the jump. I’m betting this coming week will be big for them.

A bit of a flyer... Litecoin has not done a whole lot and it never seems to keep pace in bull runs. I've just been hearing MATIC, MATIC, MATIC, lately so I'm going to run with it for a bit. I did okay with Litecoin; bought it for $59 in 2017 and just sold it for $212. I've already made about a grand on the MATIC ( in just a few hours).

I made $3500 last night playing poker.

You had more LTC than I do!

I have a few thousand MATIC I bought back at $0.607. I like the project but what I didn't like is that it's based in India where the crypto ban still looms. I know it's a blockchain and you don't have to stay in the country to develop, but still, you never know.

Do you know anything about CHZ? I was on their site and it looks like it is two tokens? One BEP-2 and the other ERC-20? I'm just confused if you need to buy one or the other.

"The Chiliz token ($CHZ), is both an ERC-20 utility token on the Ethereum blockchain and a BEP-2 token on the Binaince Chain. The tokenized fan-voting platform uses Fan Tokens, which operate on a separate permissioned side chain. The Fan Tokens have a finite supply and are fungible, meaning their ownership can be traded, and their price is driven by supply & demand in the market. Fan Tokens are specific to a team or a club, and are a finite, digital asset that provides access to an encrypted, immutable ledger of voting and membership rights ownership"

I'm not really warm and fuzzy on the way they distributed their tokens. From what I'm seeing, they held back 58% for themselves, 7.5% went to seed investors and the remaining 34.5% was "Private Placement". That crap annoys me when these projects leave out normal people that want to get in on a crowd sale. Also, a 58% hold back is pretty high.

I had a little over 6k into LTC in 2017. That turned into a little over 20k worth of MATIC.

OK, I'm game to try this, just ordered the Bobcat miner. 12-20 weeks is a long wait... plenty of time to figure out what antenna to buy and install it on my roof. This is my area map, the hex I live in has no miners, but most all of the surrounding ones do... so I think that's a good situation?

To be honest, most of my interest in CHZ is from a technical analysis/charting perspective. Looks to have broken a resistance line, and other coins that have done that in recent months have gone up significantly (IOTA - missed that one, but got in on some more MATIC, EOS - moderate gains, MANA and VET), so hoping CHZ follows the same trend. I bought on binance.

I’m good with technical analysis. Thanks for the tip. I grabbed 1,000 of them.

Anyone else having issues getting on Binance.us? The menu bar at the top is missing and clicking "Get Started" gets me nothing.

Edit -> Never mind, apparently it's a Firefox thing. The login button appears in Chrome, but not Firefox for some reason.

Up a couple Godzilla’s just from NFTs this weekend.

Quoted from Pdxmonkey:

Up a couple Godzilla’s just from NFTs this weekend.

The real question, and one that everyone seems to be dancing around that invests in these things is "Which ones, and how much did you have to pay in to get that kind of a gain?"

I mean...I understand why. Why the hell would you tell anyone else -how- you're making money hand over fist, right? I don't expect you to actually answer that, for the record. I am curious, though. Did you actually sell any of them, or just sitting on them?

Getting real salty over CAKE. Seems to be going nowhere. I guess that's good for liquidity providers, maybe. They make more money on stability than prices bouncing all over the place if I understand things correctly....but it's not fun to watch or participate in.

#3371 2 years ago

All profits off crypto-pills and gambling apes.

Edit: not advising anyone to buy these just answering the question

Thanks. I'm rocking a migraine and I'm just gonna step away for the rest of the day. If you hadn't responded I was actually going to just delete the post.

I find it interesting that procedural generated "stuff" is generating a lot more interest than original one-off artwork.

I'll bite.....What's a Godzilla?

Can you point me in the right direction of where you're getting these NFTs and how you know which ones to buy? You seem to be doing pretty good with them and I'd like to jump on board. I like money.

I think that's going back to the suggestion of referring to gains in terms of pins gained or loss, so he's up the cost of a couple godzilla pins

But today is first official day Bitcoin is accepted currency in El Salvador. Could be a push back.

Yeah...I was in on that...it was only $30 worth though.

Over 1 billion in leveraged longs just got liquidated. When will people learn not to use leverage in this market?

#3385 2 years ago

If we hit 43 I'm buying the dip pretty hard. If it turns around I'll just buy a little less. (AKA - buy the dip).

#3386 2 years ago

So right now may be a good buying opportunity if that was as far as things were dropping.

But how do you figure out which ones will be minted? Where do you buy them? Do you just buy one, or do you buy more than one? Just stuff like that.

It looks like these things sell out really quick. I was just hoping for a little insight. I'm sure we would all like to make a few grand in a weekend, but if you don't want to share your secrets, I understand.

I’ll give you a write up in alittle…
Might take some time to explain it

#3389 2 years ago

I read that someone or some entity sold a massive amount of Bitcoin this morning. Then everything seemed to be a chain reaction after that (the liquidation of leveraged longs, people getting scared and selling, etc).
Cardano hit $2.56 Canadian for a brief second, but is back to $3.09 Canadian currently. I did most of my shopping at an average of about 1.35 Canadian, so I'm still happy enough with where things are at. But going from $3.70 Canadian to $3.09 today made me do a bit of a double take lol. I was hoping to pull some profit this week before smart contracts, and then a bit after smart contracts come out on Sunday, but looks like I'll just keep riding it out for now.

Did you get it? There was a flash to $42,900 and wasn't sure if you had the order in already or were doing it manually.

Yeah same experience here, tried to buy ADA and MATIC on the dips and the first ADA purchase attempt never went through, tried again and it went through. The MATIC said it went through, but hasn't been added to my account nor taken from my bank... I guess I should upgrade to Pro? It's frustrating to try to buy and not be able to.

#3394 2 years ago

Damn, you have to be quick to catch a dip like that.

BTW... I've been using the Strike app to buy smaller amounts of BTC. Lowest fees on the planet (last I heard it was 0.3%).

Thanks for bearing with me, had a busy day today.

The first thing to note is NFT’s are risky. Riskier than Bitcoin or major Alts. However with that extra risk can come with extra rewards.

1.) Finding an NFT. Most important step. https://rarity.tools/upcoming/
As you can see every day more and more of these things are being made. 95% are going to be worthless. So do a lot of research. Find out how much presents and followers they have most important is how are they communicating. Discord is usually best. But you want as much info as possible.
2.) Whitelist
Often you can get pre approved before public launch. Example with the gambling apes i was able to mint three apes at 0.07 eth and also had 24 hours to mint them so I could wait for lowest gas fees. This is the way to go if possible.
3.) public minting
If on Eth it’s a shitshow. No polite way to say it, truly a gas war. On Gambling Apes I got shut out.
4.) after minting I go to Opensea and try to find second hands with rarities. Some people will instant sell for the quick double or triple the money. If you’ve picked the right project no problem. Even if the project sinks later some ppl can double up.
5.) Finding the right rarity
Some traits are rare. So rare that less than 1% of the total items have that trait. If you got an Ape with an angel and devil on their shoulders that makes it instantly worth over 1 eth on that same 0.07 mint fee.

That’s a general strategy.

Things to note about NFTs
Few pages back I think Astro posted a Bored Ape. I researched that project. It’s pretty fucking genius. Every ape was also airdropped (for free) another NFT called mutant syrup. You can mix the two and it makes a new NFT (your original stays intact). Those second apes sold for big money too. The company lets the customer make the money by adding value but they make so much money on the backend. They make 5% of every second hand sale.
My gambling ape nft is going to give me a profit sharing in an online casino. There is passive income to be made on the right projects.

Edit adding the numbers from 36 hours of being live 1.6k of eth. Floor price is cheapest one for sale at this time. Every ape is different an price only goes up.

Can't work out if this is a short term sell off, or the start of a dip. Interestingly, on my watchlist, most are down 15-20%, however ONE is almost back to where it was a couple of days ago. Dropped from almost 0.16, to 0.1 and now back at high 0.14

#3399 2 years ago

Late night thoughts...

Well, today is a much better time to buy than yesterday! I've learned the hard way that it's never a good idea to be all in... need dry powder to take advantage of dips. I watched Solana a few months ago, earmarked anything under $25 as a buy... watched it hit there several times, but had nothing to pull the trigger. c'est la vie.

I've also been thinking a lot about inflation... the reality is that any US dollar you have today is going to be worth less next month at the current interest rates. Bitcoin + Crypto was designed as the ultimate inflation hedge because it is a disassociation with fiat (as long as one picks the right project of course), plus good interest rates to boot. I suspect a main reason real estate prices are skyrocketing is because of it's value as an inflation hedge as well. If we are actually looking at 5-15% annual inflation over the next decade, the ability to keep up is going to challenging outside of real-estate, crypto, and the stock market.

So the real question is this: are pinball machines a good inflation hedge??
