Maybe some of you are high score players in the spectrum of pinball. How many of you play the credit score game?

I have a new high score, but, this score ebbs slightly time to time. I seemed to have plateaued at this score and can’t get much higher. Does anyone out there have any tips on how to push this score further? Rather than the obvious pay on time thing. I can’t seem to find any other place online to find the key to getting to 850.

Nice score! I'll be interested to see tips and tricks, I think I'm down to double digits.

Don't sweat it... that's an awesome score! Best rates and 0% financing is in your future! No need to drink unicorn blood to get 10 more points.

That’s a great record. Mine has not always been so shiny. 4 years ago I had credit card debt that nearly destroyed me. It was business expenses.

A recent pinball purchase with a immediate payment (1week) pushes the score up to the 817. Has anyone ever seen the 850 score?

I have had a score right around 800 for most of my life. I never used a credit card, never paid a bill late, and the loans I did take (car, house) were well within my income means. That being said I am at 807 right now and have been forever. I have no idea how to increase that number. The only debit I have is my home mortgage.

My wife convinced me to put a credit card into the rotation so we get cash back. Both of our credit scores have been with in a point of each others for a long time. The credit card is in her name and now her score dropped to 750ish. Mine has stayed the same even though the credit card shows on both of our credit reports. Again we pay it off every 2 weeks so there are no late payments or other issues. I don't really understand how a credit score is calculated.

The way I understand it; which could be wrong..
The three credit bureaus transunion equifax and experian do routine checks on you every month. Maybe once, maybe more. This may happen Monday-Friday. A sitting balance on a card (regardless of if you pay it in two weeks ) is a NEW balance, and that’s a few -points. Now if you are watching your credit hard like I am because for me it’s a game, you know to make a purchase after being notified about a new score. Then pay it off just before the next notice which is a random guess as to when, but it’s never a holiday or a weekend. Usually a mon tues or Wed. I still have a home mortgage so I would assume that’s why I’ve plateaued.

Please correct me if any of this is known to anyone else
