To All,

Due to the loss of a critical provider as well as vendor cost increases, we are putting new orders on hold until such a time that these issues can be resolved. I appreciate the interest we received for this product and will update you all if/when things can be resolved. For those of you that have been invoiced we will honor our delivery dates as promised. Thanks again.

Wow.....I am sorry to hear this. It really is a great mod and I hope you are able to work out the kinks so that others can enjoy it. Stuff like this always seems to happen to the good guys

#403 10 years ago

Dang! really hope this gets worked out for others that want this mod because its fantastic!

#404 10 years ago

That does suck. Hopefully production will resume soon.

I just installed mine this week. The mod looks great. I had one hiccup in the install (entirely my fault) but Mike answered my email within a few hours and knew exactly what the issue was. Awesome customer service.

The mod looks cool in the demo vids but looks even better when viewed live. Having the TV sunk below the lagoon window really gives it a sense of depth. I got mine with the hologram emulation for the multiball mode but all the new animations for everything else and I think thats the perfect combination of old and new. The mod is very well integrated with the gameplay. it even displays the creature when you activate the hologram test in the utilities menu.

I think I'll be retiring my green hologram for good after seeing how good the mod looks. Thanks for the awesome mod mike.

Hope you can keep offering your excellent product at or near your original price point.

Mike:

This is one of the greatest all time pinball mods! Think of how many CFTBL this will save now that there is an such a neat replacement for the hologram. I got mine installed yesterday and everyone who has saw it is blown away! You really need to find a way to run some more of these mods so more games can be saved

Yeah! ....It's so cool, I'm thinking of getting one and use it as Wall Art!

#408 10 years ago

I'm so hoping that wave 2 gets made too. One of the reasons I was willing to get a CFTBL with a bad hologram was because I knew I'd swap it out for this mod.

#409 10 years ago

looks awesome and better then not having one work or very light

The best Mod ever made. The Creature From the black Lagoon mod is amazing, Mike D is excellent, helped me through a simple installation issue and he is a great guy. I cant say enough good things about this experience, and highly recommend anyone to get this fun enhancement.

#415 10 years ago

I put in request I think about a month ago for Mike to put me on "the list", which he did and said he'd keep me posted....more than willing to wait, this is the best mod for that machine!

#416 10 years ago

Got mine installed a few days ago! Simply AMAZING mod! Thanks Mike D for all of your work to make this product!

It's a very cool mod, I have not read all the posts so this may already have been pointed out.
I work as a graphic designer and from my point of view I see a couple of things that's bugging me.

1. The font, are you using comic sans? It does not look to good and it's one of the most hated fonts on the web. It would be more fitting with Green Fuzz (http://www.dafont.com/green-fuz.font) or Castle Dracustein (http://www.dafont.com/castle-dracustein.font) or using the exact same fonr as the back glass uses.

2. The colors. The colors are way to vibrant, you should mute them allot, give it more 1950 style to it.

3. The way you have masked out the edges of the screen, this could have been done with more care in my opinion, it looks rushed the way it looks right now.

4. The content of the movies, you have probably already though about using clips from the original movies, but are not using any because of copyright. It would be so much nicer if you could.

These are just my opinions, send me a PM if you need any help with the above.

Thankfully, Diddy doesn't speak for us all. I personally appreciate when someone else does a ton of work to make an awesome mod and all I have to do is install it and enjoy. I think the font, clips, and everything else is great and I would bet that Diddy doesn't have the mod to see first hand and is making a hasty judgement by seeing it online.
It is easy to criticize someone else's work. I am pretty certain I couldn't do a better job

#419 10 years ago

Well yzfguy.
I was not criticizing him I was just stating my opinion as a professional designer on what could be done to improve the kit. I bet there was a ton of work involved, but people have different talents.

I never said it looked like crap I'm just saying as a designer that there's room for improvement and offered my help. The beauty is that because this is just GUI improvement I'm suggesting here PinballMikeD can make GUI changes and just release a patch.

We are working on several things. I'll post an update once we've finished the programming. I think it will be worth the wait

#427 10 years ago

I've installed two of these kits so far in pins in Arizona and they look fantastic and the install was easy. Only thing I had a problem with the first time was finding the sd card slot.

I don't own a CFTBL, but am building two sexy girl pins and can't wait to see if this project can be modified to work as a replacement for the projector.

#428 10 years ago

omg....c'mon! how bout a teaser hint? You are killin me! I love version 1.....the thought of more stuff? woohooo

I'll take good footage and put it on the 904 Pinball Zine youtube channel.
This game deserves InvisiGlass for the footage

I installed my mod a few weeks ago and I have to say it is awesome. Had some issues with my Creature machine with the mod, but it seems everything has been worked out and now it plays great. My color DMD already installed is waiting for the Creature rom update to be posted on the color dmd website. Can't wait to update the mod to version 2.0

#431 10 years ago

Alky, what kind of issues are you having with the mod?

Issue resolved = blown fuse.

Once we complete the new software, I’ll do another video update and add some trouble shooting stuff as well. I think this would be prudent and would certainly help circumvent some potential installation issues.

Glad your tech got it working.

#434 10 years ago

I love the mod... looking forward to see what is in 2.0...

Now we have a ColorDMD going... got my gravewalker topper... Creature is a new machine!

Now we just need Pinbits to finish the taillight mod... yea right... my money says it ain't happening...

Quick update:

We are almost finished with the programming, should be testing the latest software revision early next week on an actual CFTBL machine. Once we work out the bugs I’ll post another video update to show off the new software. I can’t wait to demo the MOD at SPF in November. Hope to see you there.

as much as I wanted to purchase it from them, I gave up after a year and a half of waiting. pick up mr. thompson's mod in his next run and you won't be disappointed. very nice construction and easy to install. the next run should play nicely with colorDMD too!

#437 10 years ago

Thanks Mike - cannot wait to see the update!!

#440 10 years ago

can we update our original ones online?

#441 10 years ago
Quoted from yzfguy:

can we update our original ones online?

Unfortunately, the answer is no

One of the features of Version 2.0 is that we replaced the current SD card with a new one as well as a USB drive. All of the video files will now reside on the thumb drive, so the SD card will only run the actual code. At this point we have used up every trigger point on the interface board, so their will not be any code updates after V2.0. Any future videos would be downloadable though.

We did add a few more video features (more on that later ), but the major upgrade it that we are giving our customers the ability to make their own videos and save them on the USB drive. Rusty spent a crazy amount of time developing a windows based custom software program that allows users to easily make any video they want for any video featured in the MOD (attract, multiball, snackbar, etc.). Art is subjective, so we decide to give the end user the ability to make the MOD play whatever they want.

We will offer a software upgrade to anyone that has Version 1.0, but there will be a nominal fee associated with the upgrade. The cost of the upgrade will cover the new hardware (SD card and USB drive) as well as a percentage of Rusty's labor fee.

The cat is out of the bag, but we still have a few surprises left for SPF

#442 10 years ago

Still on board for one of these, best alternative for holo...

#443 10 years ago

I should still be on the wait list from long ago. I'm so eager to get this installed on my Creech!

#444 10 years ago

Great work love mine, cant wait to see 2.0 in action sounds great

#445 10 years ago

The new custom video features sound fantastic. I already had a few ideas for some custom videos. Hopefully others will also make some unique video sequences and start sharing them with the community. I can't wait to upgrade.

Do you have an estimate of when the 1.0 owners can buy the 2.0 upgrade?

Hopefully not much longer, just want to make sure the software is rock solid.

We've actually talked a lot about the idea of creating a share site. I think it would be really cool to see what other people dream up for different video alternatives.

#447 10 years ago

Let the pinball porn begin!

please pm me when your update is available. I am a huge fan of the mod and would hate to miss a thread and go an extra day without the upgrade
