Pink one is in right. Diodes away from coil stop, up on plunger end. To reduce vibration and breaking off of diodes.

Yes, flipping the coil changes which direction the silver band end of diode is on. Wire it wrong and you can blow the diodes, two transistors driving it, and may hurt the coil.
