I would just say, before feeling strongly about a game, maybe play a few different examples in a few different sessions.
Playing one example of one game once IMO is not sufficient to make judgement on gameplay (generally).

Here's the thing about Creech. A dirty game under 6.5 degrees is a sluggish piece of crap. Up it to 6.5 - 7 degrees, clean it up, put a coat of wax on it and you have an incredibly fun, addictive speed demon. The game play is a little choppy, but not TZ choppy. The game is a little shallow, but not BSD shallow. Theme, art, must are all 9s or higher for me.
TFTC is fun, I've played it a few times so I'm not very familiar with it.
