Great looking pinball machine! Code however seems pretty incomplete and some of the worst code ever for a B/W game. Is there any recently updated code for this machine to make it better?

#2 5 years ago

No.

I think you are in the minority here with your 'worst code ever' opinion. Personally, I think the code is done perfectly for this theme. Is it deep? No, but it is complete.

You serious?

Are you out of your mind?!

Awesome code on that game and not just the dots and sound package. The rules are fantastic, there’s tons of ways to score points. Almost never a wasted shot on the game.

One of the very best 90s games.

There is a newer competition ROM that came out around a year ago. It's what is in my game. It fixes a couple of minor glitches but the previous versions were fine for casual or tournament play

I wouldn’t say the code feels incomplete. The rules aren’t as deep as some games from that era. CFTBL is a game that doesn’t need a large number of modes and deep rules to be great. The shot layout, art, music, humor, toys, etc... the result is very fun, a real classic. In my opinion, a modern game that falls into this category (a great game without very deep rules) would be TNA.

CFTBL code is about as deep as that HS2 you have, but CFTBL absolutely annihilates HS2.

Can you be more specific about why it's the worst code? I think it works perfectly for the game. Game is so good.

Whoa, let’s pump the brakes. HS2 is pretty great!

It's a good game.

It's fun in a "man cave."

It is an enjoyable experience.

I just dont see it having the legs of CFTBL.

My opinion. Not gospel : ).

While I agree with you that creech is better than getaway, it’s not that much better. I loved both games and would gladly buy either again. They are very different games. Creech can be brutal at times where getaway was much easier imo. The more I talk about them I really miss them both

As for the original post... I thought code on cftbl was pretty solid.

Edited for a spelling error? Better you edit it for a "posting error"...
