Have the same problem because a battery corroded the copper in the battery holder. I have a NVRAM chip coming in the mail right now. Gonna be nice to not have to worry about batteries anymore, 40 bucks well spent.

Installed the nvram chip today. It was pretty scary, first time doing any board work and had to de-solder and re-solder 24 pins into the circuit board. Lo and behold it works! No more reset issues.
