This is FDM. You use filament to print with, comes on a spool.
I suggest reading reprap wiki and forums to understand how it works.
You need to slice the 3D model into layers using a slicer. I pay for simplify3d and love it. Prusa, Repeater, Cura and many others exist that are free as well.
Once sliced, it outputs gcode. Gcode is either saved to uSD card or sent via USB.
