We had an odd thing happen to a Walkimg Dead LE last night.
The game is set on Free play.
We were having a tournament that lasted for many hours of play.
Towards the end of the event the game suddenly would not start a game.
Did not matter how many times we pressed start or how long the button was held in the game refused to start.
We even tried powering down and back up but no luck.
Then on a whim I tried using the coin credit switch multiple times and then the game would suddenly let us play again.
We had to do this the rest of the night.
Very strange behavior.
Anyone else ever had or heard of this problem?

Is it still on Free Play or have you lost any other settings? Could the power or battery continuity be an issue?

I have a machine that eats batteries and does this from time to time, even in the middle of playing.

I had this exact same issue with my Tron Pro and it turned out to be the molex connector for the cabinet wiring harness. Being that both are SAM systems, maybe this is your issue? I would try unplugging the cabinet molex connector (the one just laying on the bottom of the cabinet toward the back that connects to the harness of the rest of the cabinet), and replugging it in.

My symptoms were very similar. Game had been on free play for a good month, and then it would never start a game unless I credited it up (even though it was on free play). Reseating the connector fixed the issue.

Thanks for the tip.
Yes our game still says Free Play on the display. And when I hit the coin switch it makes the sounds but does not show any credits on the screen. It just works for some stupid reason.
I’ll try the connector.
