One easy way to avoid the Photoshopped pictures thing is ask for a video. It's harder to fake and you can at least verify that the seller is in the same location as the package.

Quoted from Hoopjohn:Easiest way to feel out scams. Tell the seller by some stroke of luck, your work is sending you to the the very same town where the pins are located, and you'll be there for 3 days. And you'll be able to pay in cash within 24 hours after seeing them, at the XYZ Bank. Real sellers, having real items will be ecstatic. Scammers will quickly recite from the "Excuse Book" as to why they can't meet.
In the real world, people don't list items for sale A)when they are out of town or B)in a location other than where they reside
If you're using that strategy to "feel out" a scam what do you do if the deal isn't a scam? If seller agrees now you're reciting from the excuse book and look like a scammer.
I've got those too. I tell them they are welcome to come see it and pay for their own report.
Better to just use the report scam link CL includes with every email through their system.
