I am looking for a screwdriver set and noticed a 14 piece set of Craftsman Extreme Grip on sale at Sears. They are half off $ 39.99 from $ 79.99. Does anybody have an experience w these? Is this a good set or would you recommend another?

I don’t know anything personally but do you really need diamond coated screwdriver bits? I mean they sound good but $40 for 14 screwdrivers is a lot IMO, but they do have diamonds on the bits.

I use exactly 2 screwdrivers for anything pinball: A flathead for anything Gottlieb, and a medium sized phillips head for pretty much everything else, and I've been able to service nearly every game I've ever come across with them. They're both the most standard run-of-the-mill screwdrivers, and I think I paid only a couple bucks each for them at harbor freight. I guess if you're going to use screw drivers for a ton of different things, it could be worth it, but for pinball, that sounds like overkill.

It never hurts to have several different sizes of flats heads and Phillips screwdrivers. With that said, you dont need anything fancy. I prefer something with a soft grip vs a hard grip, but other than that, most any screwdriver will work fine.

The screwdrivers you mentioned sound nice enough. There are times where I wished my screwdrivers didnt slip or a screw is stuck in really good and i end up stripping the head more than I care for. If these screwdrivers can prevent that from happening, it might be worth the investment.

$40 to have some screwdrivers you like for life. Doesn't sound like much of a splurge. I say go for it and I'm a cheap ass.
