Hello everyone,

The sound on my STTNG is extremely crackly until the game warms up - then it is not too bad at all

Is that likely to be a capacitor issue, and if so is it the two big ones that should be changed (C20 and C21) or something else?
There seems to be a lot of capacitors on this board!

Many thanks for any help you can give

OK, thank you for your input - I take on board your comment about the difficulty of changing them and if I go ahead will proceed with extreme caution!

whthrs166 - I'm in UK so that isn't really an option!

Has anyone done 6.28.6.5 on here on a STTNG?, and if so what result did you get?:

Thanks ChrisHibler

I tried wiggling the big caps but it had no effect (and there was no observable play with them when I did so)

I'll try cutting off the small caps

The sound quality starts really bad - a noticeable hum when the gam is first turned on, and really crackly sound when a game is started - but it improves very quickly so that after a few games it could pass as close to normal

Appreciate you taking the time to comment
